Although the rooms are quite small, Pousada Alfama is reasonably priced, well maintained, and well located near the water. Their breakfasts are excellent! And the staff are friendly and helpful. Best rooms are on floor 2 and above….those on 1 have no view.

Great stay at a beautiful property in the center of Alfama. The beautifully appointed room with a view of the river, the courtyard, restaurant space with delicious morning breakfast, snacks and access to coffee and tea and water all day were absolute highlights for my stay. The street noise can be an issue especially during the day, but that seems to be a reflection of the busy location and central to all the beautiful vistas in Alfama. Loved my solo stay at the hotel and would return again!

This is a very nice hotel with good breakfast options. The location is great for the Alfama area. The room was quiet, but rather small for two people. No place to store luggage. But all in all, it was wonderful

Excellent experience at this hotel. Its location is unbeatable, very central and close to the main points of interest, which makes getting around the city easy. The customer service was outstanding from the very beginning: friendly, attentive staff who were always willing to help. In addition, the entire hotel was impeccably clean, both the room and the common areas. Without a doubt, a highly recommended option for staying in comfort and peace of mind.

Excellent location and great experience on the hills and cobble stones walking through restaurants and shops. Located on top of the hill with great view. Only issues it’ll be a challenge for those who have mobility issues or knee cap pains because when they say it’s only an one miles walk it took me 30 minutes due to all the hills and stairs. Otherwise love this place!!

Perfectly situated within walking distance to anywhere and right across from the trolly stop. The train station, Rossio, is a short walk away, but you can make it even shorter by taking the trolley for a closer drop-off. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. However, there's a very capable kitchen staff there, as well. Be sure to book your room with breakfast included. The buffet layout and service is an outstanding value and the quality is definitely gourmet. Cheers!
