A family holiday home in a tranquil setting close to the Morvan National Park. Beautiful French village close to small towns for markets and shopping. Within an easy drive of the vineyards and wine tasting caves as well as peaceful lake walks, sailing and fishing. Within a 5 minute stroll of the Nivernais canal where people cycle and walk along the flat canal paths and quiet roads. Only 5 kms drive from the local supermarket and 10kms to the spa town of St Honore-les-Bains with its famous spas, casino, swimming pool and parks.
There are many opportunities to visit countless brocantes in the area and the summer fairs and markets regularly throughout the summer months.
There is ample garden furniture for the patios and relaxing chairs and sun-loungers for guests. A gas barbeque can be wheeled out for that all important summertime barbeque and a relaxing evening in the garden.
The local restaurant is less than 300m away and often has local entertainment in the summer evenings.
Rental is suitable for one or two families or a group of adult friends, the house can be sectioned off if necessary.
The property comes well equipped with dishwasher, microwave, bread-maker, oven and stove, wood-burning fires and radiators or fans in most rooms. It also has English satellite TV, DVD player and stereo along with a variety of games, books and DVDs.

Summer stay in Panneçot

We enjoyed our stay in Panneçot very much and were delighted to communicate with Dominique, who was calm, practical and very helpful, thank you Dominique. The cottage is in an ideal location. Everyone slept soundly and we enjoyed tractors going past the doorstep and giving a wave in the morning. A small note - I have left enough toilet paper for the next guests. Not possible to buy in the little hamlet and with families, maybe good to err on side of generous...

Beautiful location, so peaceful

We love coming to the area and this house is just wonderful - cool inside when the weather was extra hot. We timed the stay for the July 14th celebrations and vide-grenier which was extra fun to see so many people out and about! Dominique met us at the house, let us in, and gave us her phone number in case we needed anything while we were there. Would definitely recommend - the area also now has a 4G phone signal so I had to disconnect my phone from data to stay away from work emails :D :D We'll be back again!

Another enjoyable stay

As before, we really enjoyed staying at this property. It is in a beautifully quiet location but still within easy access of other attractions. However, this year, because of COVID 19 most of the time was spent lounging at the property to recharge our batteries. The weather was superb which helped with this. We shall be back.

Great area for walking, lively canal

We were making a return visit to this lovely property to enjoy it in the autumn. Again we walked along the Canal du Nivernais and also went bike riding (there are eight bikes at the property). The property is beautifully appointed - it lacks for nothing in the way if appliances, there is even an ice cream maker, a bread maker and an electric egg boiler if needed! We will definitely be back as we love the area and this is such a lovely property. Plenty of room (it sleeps ten no problem)

Beautiful house in a tranquil location

We spent a few days here in August when the weather had cooled a little bit - high 20s rather than the 35 of the previous week - which was perfect for us. It meant that we could spend time relaxing on the patio in the sunshine and have barbecues without it being overbearing. The house seems to stay cool whatever the weather though! The house has pretty much everything that we could ask for - my children could go for walks along the canal in the afternoons and evening to get some exercise, while we could relax and make the most of being somewhere quiet and remote. The nearby campsite had their first international food festival for two nights with live music and plenty of choice of food (Indian, pizza, Dutch, Panini, steak...) which was a good chance to mingle a bit as well (details of what events they have are on their website: https://www.lebarrage.fr/) We tended to get food when we were out and about - Moulins Engilbert has a good supermarket and when we were in nearby Chateau Chinon we found they have a large Lidl which was good for a bigger shop. We also ate out in Moulins Engilbert one night where our stumbling French still managed to get us a three course meal and drinks! Overall a lovely stay, a great place to chill and relax, and we'll hopefully come back next year :)

A truly relaxing home away from home

I spent a few lovely quiet days here with my grandson, during a spell of wonderful hot weather. We spent time relaxing on the large patio in the sunshine as well at going for walks along the Nivernais Canal which is extremely close by. The house stayed beautifully cool despite the outside heat, so when it got too hot outside we could make use of the English TV or DVDs (or the French TV in the kitchen!) to relax. The hot weather enabled us to have two barbecues in the evening and we ate out on the patio. The house has every possible amenity to make the stay very comfortable. Although the village does not have any shops itself, Moulins Englilbert is only about 5km away and has a good supermarket, pharmacy, butcher etc which provided all the daily shopping that we needed. The Lac des Setons is not too far away, where we could hire pedaloes/boats , and could swim if we wanted to. Although WiFi is not available within the property, it is readily accessible at the nearby campsite, which also has a restaurant (with a themed evening on a Thursday). I found the website www.lebarrage.fr excellent and particularly helpful, with details of walks, restaurant, nearby attractions etc etc.

Hébergement trÚs bien équipé. Chambres confortables. Les 2 salles de bain et wc à l'étage sont appréciables. Juste un petit problÚme : les escaliers ne sont pas sécurisés pour les jeunes enfants (pas de barriÚre au bas de l'escalier). Merci à Dominique pour son accueil et sa disponibilité.

L'hébergement est trÚs vaste, avec 5 chambres, et trÚs propre. Il est trÚs bien situé pour visiter le Morvan depuis le sud.Le rapport qualité prix est exceptionnel.Nous avons été trÚs bien accueilli par la personne qui gÚre la location.Un détail à noter pour des locataires français : le propriétaire est anglais, la télévision reçoit par satellite les chaines anglaises et il n'y a pas internet mais beaucoup de DVD en VO. Cela nous a permis de réviser un soir en famille notre compréhension de la langue de Shakespeare.

Manque de grands plats et autre vaisselle pour 10 adultes . Merci Dominique de nous avoir prĂȘtĂ© des grands plats . La tĂ©lĂ© dans le salon en anglais !!!!! On voulais voir un match .oui dans cuisine tres petite tv . Mais pas pratique .un grand frigidaire au niveau de la terrasse est nĂ©cessaire. Pas le petit . TrĂšs bon accueil. Nous avons eu un lĂ©ger problĂšme Ă  notre arrivĂ©e car la personne chargĂ©e de l'accueil n'a pas Ă©tĂ© prĂ©venue par la plateforme de notre location et n'a pas pu chauffer la maison comme prĂ©vue. Dominique a tout de mĂȘme su rebondir Ă  ce manquement en se rendant tout de suite disponible. Location confortable, complĂšte. Attention ! une petite marche situĂ©e Ă  l'Ă©tage dans le couloir accĂ©dant aux chambres Ă  gauche n'est pas signalĂ©e et n'est pas Ă©clairĂ©e correctement. Elle a provoquĂ©e une chute d'un de nos amis, sans grave consĂ©quence, heureusement.TrĂšs bon sĂ©jour.

Une maison chaleureuse

Nous avons passĂ© plusieurs jours Ă  10 Ă  3 familles dans cette maison oĂč on se sent comme chez soi grĂące Ă  la dĂ©coration, aux meubles et au matĂ©riel disponible. C'est comme un Ă©change de maison, trĂšs loin donc d'une location de type "AirBnb" avec du mobilier IKEA trĂšs terne. C'Ă©tait en hiver et il faisait froid dehors et il pleuvait. Les 2 poĂȘles ont bien chauffĂ© la maison et nous Ă©tions contents d'ĂȘtre tous ensemble pour manger et jouer. Vigilance aux escaliers pour ceux qui les craindraient. La maison est plus sympathique en rĂ©alitĂ© que sur les photos. Aucun bruit de train ou de route mĂȘme s'ils sont juste Ă  cĂŽtĂ©.

Un séjour agréable en famille

Nous avons passĂ© 5 jours loin de tout, au calme dans la maison de John. Nous avions largement de la place pour 5 enfants et 5 adultes chacun avait son espace Ă  lui. Dominique qui s’occupe de l’accueil sur place est trĂšs disponible et arrangeante. Nous avons seulement regrettĂ© le manque de grandes casseroles en bon Ă©tat pour cuisiner pour 10. Il y a beaucoup de vaisselle mais aucun faitout, cocotte ou plats Ă  gratin. Dommage quand nous sommes aussi nombreux avec le temps de cuisiner.
