What can we say? Bellissimo, meraviglioso, favoloso! Simply 10/10! From start to finish, Simone and Alberto were so welcoming and charming—the perfect hosts. Our room was lovely, and the food was just fabulous. As a coeliac, travelling can be tricky, but the team really looked after me, bringing me a separate platter of bread and toast (which was prepared separately). The choice of wine was delightful! I hope we will return as Relais Casali Della Cisterna is a very special place, and we’re so glad we were able to experience it. xx Shout out to the very sweet puppy host as well ♥️🐾

Simona and Alberto made our stay so tremendously special. The hospitality was impeccable. In all of my trips to Europe, this stay was the best. From the views to the “bed and breakfast” feel opposed to the hustle and bustle that you get from hotels, it was serene, peaceful and very cozy. We had access to the hot tub and pool overlooking the beautiful lake. A gym is made available as well. Breakfast/dinner very delicious. Simona was always available to assist us with regards to transportation. We will most certainly return. If anyone is considering stresa, skip it and come to Belgirate for a more enjoyable experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible hotel during our trip to Italy, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the lake from our room. Waking up to such a picturesque sight each morning was nothing short of magical, and it truly enhanced our overall experience. Not only was the accommodation itself top-notch, but the food was also exceptional. Every meal, from the delicious breakfast spread to the homemade lasagne, was a culinary delight. It was evident that a lot of care and attention went into preparing each dish, and it definitely added to the overall enjoyment of our trip. The property is very pleasant, and has an interesting history. The owners/managers were lovely and did everything possible to make my visit pleasurable. The grounds are beautiful with nice gardens. Wonderful stay!

Nicest ambience ever! Enjoyed both cocktails and breakfasts on the patio overlooking beautiful Lake Maggiore amidst lovely grounds. We stayed 3 nights, relaxing and loving our time there. Simona and Alberto were warm, welcoming, and somehow everywhere if needed. Felt more like staying at a friend's home, but with an idyllic setting. P.S. Don't miss visiting Isola Bella -- just a short ferry ride away.

Spacious beautiful rooms and breathtaking views

Small elegant hotel, beautifully restored historic property, gracious friendly service, a spacious suite for a reasonable price (we had the Dinghy superior suite w/large patio/balcony) and stunning views of Lago Maggiore—we could not have asked for more. We enjoyed a breakfast and light supper served on the garden patio, and especially appreciated the proprietor’s help arranging our mandatory pre-flight COVID test. The hotel is on a quiet stretch of shoreline between Arona and Stresa which we preferred, but you do need a car to drive to restaurants and beaches with facilities. A walk into the small town of Belgirate is possible but it would be a long climb back up the hill.

Great hotel near Stresa

Very nice hotel settled in a large garden. Quiet, clean, great lake views. Breakfast was excellent too. And the staff very welcoming. If you do not mind having to take a short drive to Stresa or restaurants, this is definitely the place to stay at.

I have stayed at 5 star hotels not this nice. First class everything, furnishings,linens, service,views, the total package. Th3se people should give seminars on how to run a hotel. I have stayed at thousands of hotels, you arenot going to get better.
