Reasonable roadside motel. Rooms were dated, but reasonably clean. Property is in need of some repairs, and services were minimal. It’s a bit outside of town, which meant short drives for meals or supplies. It does have a beautiful view of the lake, and staff was courteous.
This was one of the best property if you want to stay near Yosemite national park and still use modern facilities. We got here on a warm day. It was bit hot in the cabin. There was no AC working but had a Aircooler. Overnight the weather cooled so we had opened windows to cool the room. Other than the AC condition everything was perfect. Very clean and nice bathrooms and charming place to stay.
The view was great but the bed was broken and there was no tv. Otherwise this place was great and there were lots of places to relax outside to take in the view of the lake. I’d highly recommend staying there - just bring something for the evening entertainment.
Asthetics? Yes. Great there.
Amenities? No.
No TV. No Wi-Fi (Offered, but signal is horrible).
Wish the tub came with instructions. No shower; surprise. The floor needs dusting and mopping.
Small everything: small bed (and I'm short), small table, barely 1.5 seats available.
Great views to the lake.
Have to drive out for everything.
The staff was nice and on top of everything. I really liked this property. The cabins are very cute, and in close proximity to Yosemite, June lake and Bodie. There's a lot to do around this property.
Gladis was very nice during check in. Even made sure we knew what time sunrise over Mono lake was which I thought was very thoughtful. The entire place was very clean and had so much charm!

Pros: The room was great! Wonderful view of the lake. Bed was comfortable.
Minutes to Leeverling town where there is shopping and dining.
Cons: lack of staff. Main hotel and “restaurant” are non existent and not in working order.
Noisy highway right in front. Motion lights go off and on all night.
Sprinklers are set to go off at midnight-1am. Seriously? They are loud. Woke us up.
The grounds need to be trimmed and weeded. It looks halfway. Either they are trying to bring it back to life or it is dying.
Definitely not a lodge more of a motel feel.
It’s right upfront facing the lake . Atleast the two story unit we stayed in with the balcony . Only issue is the noise of traffic as the main hwy is right there going at 40-50mph. You have to run the portable coolers inside to mask the traffic noise . Also it would be good if the staff empty out the cooler water completely as it gets full very quickly and hard to empty . If the water is full , then only the fan will work . And in summer unless it’s running all the time in full cooling mode it won’t cool down the room . Also if they use cotton pillow covers it would be a bit cooler than blend pillow covers which get hot . Other thing is that you won’t be able to check in until 4pm . So if you get there early the lobby will be closed .
Lovely location, but clearly the property has seen better days and is on a cost cutting drive. There were unnecessary extra annoyances, like $50 fine if you didn't wash your dishes, but then no tool provided to wash the dishes effectively.
I loved the quirky Motel. So much character. It’s right across from Mona Lake. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets . We had a porch with two chairs and every night we watch the stars. Our room also had a refrigerator with a little eating table by the window. Loved it!

We left after 3 hours of being here. $250 for one night wasted was worth driving to Bridgeport and staying in a different location.
There was no air conditioning to start. The swamp cooler units were not turned on before hand and after 3 hours, it was still unbearable conditions. Once it cooled down outside the indoor temp was hotter than outdoors and there were only two small windows in the bathroom to allow circulation.
Additionally, the “suite” we booked had a creepy stairwell with no lights inside the room. It felt unsafe and was not something we felt comfortable with considering there was no explanation of it before hand or during check-in.
There were several large wolf spiders crawling up the wall into the hot and humid bedroom that pushed us to the limit, we could not fathom dealing with the temperature, bugs, and creepy environment and decided to waste the money and leave.
Multiple reasons for this review:
-no a/c but did provide a room chiller thing, it almost did the job
-only one small side window and bathroom window opened so it barely helped with cooling at night
-NO hot water in the shower, now I was warm from the room so it almost felt good but it was freezing cold!
-I was unsure what to do/who to contact about anything since it wasn’t “typical” hours and even at check in I had to call someone to come and check me into my room.
It was just a very strange experience, I would not book here again despite the amazing outdoor areas and views
The check in process is not easy. You have to wait for the person to come over and check you in. The room was small and not clean. No AC. I found a huge web in the window with flies caught in it. Killed a big fly, three spiders. One was on my pillow. Moth was in the bathroom. Bathroom floor was super sticky so I had to ask my kids to wear shoes at all times. The view in beautiful but I wish they had made it bug free. My son was bit by spider and had reaction to it.

Views of Mono Lake are the best. The picnic area is great - shaded for a good part, nice tables, and has a stream flowing through it. Some of the newer cabins were nicer. The onsite manager, Gladys is pleasant and addresses your concerns promptly. Linens and towels were new and fresh.
Separate sitting area in the room was convenient.
The property is RUSTIC (no double pane windows, old bathrooms), sits by highway 395 and you can hear trucks roaring down. Especially true for cabins 10-14.
Mattresses are old.
Deal breaker for me is that the website advertises a restaurant but that was closed - the manager says closed for the season.
I would rate 2.5 if I could.
A very charming property set right along highway 395 and in a wood shaded area that also has a river running through it. There are plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the view of Mono Lake across the highway. Very beautiful and scenic. It can be a bit loud with the cars but we didn't mind. No TV, Wi-Fi is available but there was enough connection (T-Mobile) for emails and web browsing. It's a cabin in the woods. All amenities enough for what we needed. Wouldn't mind coming back next time we're in the area.
