Disappointing stay, will look elsewhere next time

Disappointed in the property. Our room was not cleaned properly before arrival. The front desk staff did take care of us (removed one night's resort fee), but we would've preferred it be cleaned. The next day, when we asked for the room to be serviced, housekeeping left dirty coffee cups (their ceramic, provided cups) and dirty glasses (also provided) and did not replace them. Our view was of the roof, which I understand they cannot change. But the room was overpriced for the room we had. A high per night Valet, combined with a high per night resort fee is overpriced for what you get. The bar, at the resort (don't know how they think the property qualifies as a resort), was terrible. On two separate occasions, different bartenders, our drinks were either made wrong (pineapple vodka used instead of non-flavored, rye instead of bourbon). Finally, when we found out, after our reservation started, that the same room was substantially less for the stay, also through hotels.com, the property did not offer any type of adjustment. Neither did hotels.com because their policy is rate adjustments must be requested forty-eight hours in advance and they would not budge. Disappointed on both parties there. We will likely look elsewhere for our next visit and likely use a different service instead of hotels.com

Hotel’s decor is as seen on pictures. We stayed there as our friends had already reserved their stay here. There is a resort fee, but I’m still unclear what the fee covered. Bike rentals we expensive in comparison to across the street bike & ski shop. Bars were closed and poorly staffed. I can overlook a lot, but if you advertise it’s always 5 o’clock at Margaritaville then have better options for customers. Pool is an indoor pool which would be nice in the winter. Hotel has dark carpets and for obvious reasons. Our room smelled of smoke. I complained immediately and was offered a different room however we were in a hurry and opted for them to re clean and spray. That did not help. We stayed on 8th floor so I blame the water pressure to that. Front desk staff was not friendly or knowledgeable. The bar staff were kind but definitely overwhelmed. The hotel offers shuttle service which we could never arrange as they were booked EVERY time we needed. The Valet staff was the best. Kind, helpful and knowledgeable. However most hotels did not charge parking if staying there, this one is 40 a day.

Beautiful hotel property in South Lake Tahoe

Booked one night through Hotels.com to see a concert at Caesars Republic Amphitheater, which is so conveniently located right across the street. Parking is valet only. We arrived around 2:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon for a 4:00 pm check-in time, and to my surprise we were able to check-in early with no early check-in fee. The check-in desk staff were friendly and the lady staffer explained all the amenities for the hotel. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. Light and breezy feeling like you're at a beach resort. The style of the hotel looked very familiar and later researched that it was originally an Embassy Suites, which we had stayed at in Atlanta, GA a couple of years ago. Our room was on the 7th floor towards the back of the hotel. Room was spacious clean and quiet. Nice separate TV living room with a table for four and a individual coffee cup maker, ice bucket, small refrigerator, safe, and two complimentary water bottles. King-size bed was firm and comfortable and another big screen tv in the bedroom. Bathroom was spacious and clean. We would definitely stay here again on another visit. Just expect to pay an additional $50 hotel resort fee, $40 valet fee, $7 Resort Fee Tax 14%, and California Tourism Fee $0.10 for a total of $97.10 for one night's stay at checkout.
