Cozy Adventure Motel with cool vibes

We had a great time at Basecamp! We love the adventure motel vibe, there is a warm & welcoming common area with a fire & coffee, tea & hot chocolate. Great location, very walkable to the restaurants, shops & cafe in Tahoe City. There's a little slice of Lake Tahoe from the parking lot (the weather was storming so not sure about the view from the top deck). Beds were comfy & rooms were cozy, it's a refurbished motel that's cozy and cute decor. We love these types of adventure motels with common areas so we'll be back!

Above average motel with a funky, campy touch. Nice welcome. There was a happy hour event, but I did not attend it. Good-sized, comfortable room. Heater worked well and quietly. Room is a bit dark, even with all lights on, but it was good enough. Good price for the accomodation. Not a big fan of having the window opening directly to the corridor, that forces you to keep the shade down for privacy, but I guess that's standard for a motel. Will likely return, as it's one of the best accomodations in that price range.

Excellent spot In Tahoe City (15 minutes to Alpine Meadows) with unique atmosphere and solid attention to detail in terms of presentation. Comfortable beds in a cozy room. Really nice lounge/reception area and 3 different fire pits on charming patios. Super nice and helpful staff (shout out to Casey)! Couldn’t have expected much more. Very cool vibe.

Quiet and available when I got snowed into Tahoe. However, it's 30 minutes from Truckee. A simple space with cute ski designs. The one thing that I didn't like, however, was the place was severely doused with something that smelled like Fabreeze. I don't use scented laundry products. It reeked and all my pajamas and ski clothes ended up smelling like the Goodwill. I set some of it aside and it took 1.5 months for the smell to go away. I tried washing some and it made my others clothes reek. There has to be a less stinky way to keep the place clean. The lobby was fun, staff nice.

Great pick

Great setup all-around, and really wasn’t expecting the lobby to be so great- couches, fireplace, games, drinks on tap, s’mores and firepits. Definitely would come back next visit.

I have stayed here previously and really enjoyed it. I was refused service by the desk staff on Sunday, January 26th as I was there with a female partner and was treated hostiley. The desk staff cancelled our reservation with no explanation leading me to believe that the decision was discriminatory against us. I followed up with the Manager who is not responding to my emails.
