Check in was not great, our room was not available and had to switch the next day. Not many food options, ate off the resort. Gym is old and small and the pools chairs are all filled by 7 am (no one monitors so people just hold them), beach chairs are not included in resort fee…. Hospitality suite for checkout was not cleaned in between guests.

Clean room, every staff member was very helpful and very friendly/patient. Loved that the beach was right there. Favorite part of the hotel was Ulu Kitchen. Some of the best food I’ve ever had

For the money I think the room should’ve been more spectacular and bigger The whole renting of beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas could use a ton of work for how many guests stay at this one huge hotel they only offer maybe 10-20 beach setups and maybe 5 cabanas and you either have to book the rentals weeks in advance or stand in line everyday at 730am and on top of that and the amount you pay for the room you would think the rentals would be included but no they are anywhere from$50-500 each day for rentals. I’m not sure if the Ulu kitchen is part of Westin but they would not let you sit at the bar to wait for a dinner table…really weird place. Sad because they had amazing food but after one weird experience first day we never went back, basically boycotted them because process was so weird. Otherwise everything else was amazing, concierge services were awesome and so was all the staff. Recommend the tandem zip line adventure, whale watching, and Westin luau was spectacular!! Great trip all in all!!

One of the main reasons you come to the Westin Maui at Christmas is for the beach. The Westin has seemingly farmed out responsibility for umbrellas and chairs to a third party. This company doesn't have near the equipment to supply the hotel guests with what they need. And for the lucky few that get up at 730a to get said umbrella and chairs, two chairs and an umbrella will set you back 150.00 dollars which is not included in the "resort fee". Price gouging at an insane level. It was terrible watching the looks on the guests faces when they were told the fee and that they were none left anyway. We often go to the Westin in the Cayman Islands at Christmas sometimes and this umbrella/chair policy is not a thing. We went to the Westin ULU kitchen last night and the food was good. The only problem was the kids menu. My wife ordered the adult portion steak fritte and one of our children had the steak fritte from the kids menu. The steak from the kids menu was of terrible quality. We ordered from the kids menu for portion size not poor quality. The first night we arrived we noticed our bathroom sink was plugged and building maintenance came about an hour later to fix it. Even the toilet paper was cheap. When we called up for a bathrobe they forgot to send it and then we asked two hours later and it eventually arrived. I could go on but I'm sure l've made my point. The hotel itself is decorated nicely and there were local singers and dancer which were fun to watch.
