    Accommodation In Labuan

After a holiday in Labuan you’ll leave feeling like you’ve done everything. You can dive around World War II shipwrecks, mingle with locals on pristine beaches that make this Malaysian island ‘The Pearl of the South China Sea’, fish the biggest catch out of crystal blue waters, or buy jewellery and gorgeous sarongs duty free! Sound like a dream? Well, wot you need is one of our Labuan hotels and you’ll be exploring this amazing destination before you know it!

Labuan Town is the biggest city on Labuan, also known by its old name, Victoria, and has some major differences to other Malaysian cities that add to the cool factor. It is very easy and pleasant to walk around the town because it is one of the cleanest in Malaysia and also a place where drivers go slowly and give way to people trying to cross the road. You know this is special if you’ve ever travelled around Asia before – just don’t put it to the test too much and look where you’re going!

You won’t be looking at the traffic for too long with meaningful sights like the Lebuan War Cemetery east of the town near the airport. The beautiful grounds have perfectly cropped grass, colourful flowerbeds and monuments around the white and black gravestones of Indian and Australian troops who died in WWII. It is a moving place to visit and a fine tribute to their sacrifice.

Labuan is not a very big island, so don’t be scared to take trips beyond Labuan Town or you’ll miss places like the Labuan Bird Park and the Chimney, which are right to each other. They are up near the northern tip of the island, where a section of lush rainforest and three domes are home to all kinds of birds, from peacocks and geese to myna birds and ostriches. Onsite staff can help you get up close and personal with some of the species. Outside the park you will come across a tall brick chimney, a cool structure from the island’s mining days. The funny thing is no one knows what it was used for.

Back in Labuan Town you can fight your hunger away with some delicious seafood, scooped right out of the ocean and onto your plate. Crab, fish and lobster can all be made in special local ways, but the island has much more food up its sleeve. Barbecued chicken and tasty local sweets prepared in different leaf wraps are to die for.

You can’t visit Labuan and miss out on the ocean. At the very least go to one of the many stunning beaches, which have even won awards for cleanliness. The town of Batu Manikar near the bird park is a good choice. Some of you will want a little more adventure though, and for that there is shipwreck diving. There are four of them, with Cement Wreck being the easiest to navigate and also a place where a whale shark might sneak up on you if you’re lucky.

Wot are you waiting for? Want to be dazzled both on land and the water? Book your Labuan accommodation and a flight to Malaysia with us today!
