An absolutely beautiful stay. While the food is not as outstanding as the Ayana in Bali, it was good (but not amazing). The property itself is beautiful and incredibly scenic and they offer many tours provided by the hotel. We chose to do a tour provided by an outside party, but they gave us an excellent breakfast box to go with us and it made that tour so much better (it felt like we had the best breakfast box of the entire group). This was such an relaxing stay and the service was excellent. We loved it.

Truly unforgettable stay at the beach resort-Ayana

I had an excellent hotel experience, with exceptionally courteous staff across all departments—from the front office to the F&B team, including room service and housekeeping. Jenifer, from the hotel tour help desk, was incredibly helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations for tours that perfectly suited my girlfriend and me. Max, the hotel lifeguard and snorkelling guide, also played a key role in making our stay memorable.

I don’t do reviews, but I really enjoyed this hotel! Initially I booked 2 nights and was gonna try another hotel, but I really like the place and I didn’t want to leave. The staff was amazing and very tentative. The place just made me feel relaxed and I needed that.

One of the best resorts I’ve stayed in with all necessary amenities within the resort itself. A perfect place for a wellness vacation. The staff are constantly checking up on your wellness and comfort of stay as well. Town is only a 10 mins drive away but most of the activities can be booked from the resort itself. Will definitely come back here.

The location of the Hotel was fantastic. Nice clear water to snorkel from the hotel jetty. Their marine division actively plants corals that attract the vibrant marine life there. Compared to snorkeling there 2 years ago the corals have grown and there are more marine life to see. Not so good is the increase in rubbish in the water now. Seems noticeably more then 2 years ago too. Staff were fantastic. Took food allergies seriously and catered or warned us if our selection contained those allergens. My bro got bad jellyfish stings around his wrist whilst swimming with the manta rays the day before, and while we were discussing it at the breakfast table, one of the supervisors saw and overheard our conversation and called their first aider for advice and brought a vinegar spray which worked wonders in settling the redness and discomfort on his wrist. Very happy to recommend this hotel for their excellent service and care.

This hotel is a joy. The place is kept in pristine condition. The view is breathtaking and the staff is focused on making you happy. We love our stay. We took the cruise to see the Komodo Dragons. It’s a bit pricey compared to local economy. We had the boat to ourselves and the staff was top notch.

Ayana is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view. The staff were particularly friendly and efficient in the different roles. The drawbacks are the distance from town and the fact that it is on the pricey side.

Superb luxury resort at gateway to Komodo Dragons

Stunning hotel in all aspects. Incredible view over the ocean and outer islands, great restaurants and pool bar. Highlight was a full day charter do their yacht to Komodo island to see the dragons, snorkelling with turtles and manta ray and visiting the pink beach. We enjoyed Christmas themed dinners with the family and overall great stay.

One of the most beautiful settings and surroundings of all the places we stayed in Bali. Beautiful sunsets from the beach, pool or our balcony. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. We took the sunset dinner cruise while staying there. Very much worth the money.

This place was 10 star. Book it - you’ll be so glad you did!! Staff were amazing, food incredible and the location (is slightly out of town) is so perfect because you can swim and snorkel off the jetty. Beautiful views from every room - you cannot go wrong.

If you're looking for an idyllic getaway where they cater to all your needs, this is the property to go to in Labuan Bajo. We stayed here for the final night of our trip after getting back from a 4-day cruise through the archipelago and it was just what we needed before heading back home.

Our check in time was at 2pm but we did not get our room until 3:41pm. Also, the room that was assigned to us initially was downgraded room, which was resolved instantly once we brought it to resort attention. The biggest scam of this resort is “luxury adults only resort” which is scam. There is plenty of children’s and toddlers around. We don’t have problem with kids but we wouldn’t like to be fooled around by false advertisement. We choose to stay with Sana Ubud over another resort because of their adult only status. Staffs are nice but there certainly is room for improvement. Food and service at the restaurant is below average for 5 star resort expectation. The only pros of this resort is location, property ground is phenomenal and the room is spectacular.

Great hotel, but expensive

We did the island hopping and snorkeling trilogy day trips with the hotel. Whilst they were much more expensive than booking with local companies, we only had a small group (4 guests on one and 8 on the other) and the boats were very comfortable. I would however say that the trip itineraries need to be clearer - one said we would be spending an hour snorkeling at Pink Beach, but it was actually just an hour relaxing on the beach as it was not a snorkeling spot. Also there was some duplication across the two trips (snorkeling at Manta Point), despite me confirming with the hotel in advance that the itinaries were completely different. The food in the hotel is very good and the rooms comfortable with a decent shower. There were some negatives. This is a popular hotel with families so you cannot relax by the pool without screaming children running around. There were some sunbeds by the end of the pier which was quieter though. Some aspects of the hotel were also very expensive. A cappuccino costs IDR 72k (including tax/service) which is about GBP 3.50 i.e. what you'd pay in London. I might expect this sort of price gouging in the Four Seasons but a hotel of Ayana's class should be charging closer to Indonesian local rates. We stayed in other high end hotels in Bali and prices for soft drinks and cocktails were around half what we paid in Ayana.
