Nice little property
Lovely place to stay central to many locations in the area. Need to let people know about the three levels of spiral stairs with heavy luggage.

River view cottage
What a great place to base out of for visiting the Dordogne area…the cottage was perfect for us and our friends. It was very comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, living area to gather in and each couple had their own bathroom.
Also, Marc was easy to communicate with directions, etc.

Beautiful setting on the Dordogne
The host was there promptly to meet us and tell us all about the property
The outlook was amazing with beautiful views of the Dordogne River
The property is spacious but a little dated.
The bathrooms were plentiful, four in all.
However the water pressure was poor.
Overall a positive experience

Christmas stay
For a group of 5 people spending Christmas in the Dordogne, we found the accommodation had everything we needed. On arrival Marc and Jenny, gave us a welcome pack of fruit, eggs and milk and were there to greet us and give us all the information we required. We spent a very pleasant 5 days relaxing and enjoying the local area. Perfect position for enjoying the area. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Wonderful location in fascinating Roque-Cagneac overlooking the River.
Had a great time in this historical town. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The property is well equipped with comfortable bedrooms and more bathrooms than bedrooms; a big plus. Owners were very helpful and very responsive to text questions although we didn’t have many.

Plume D’Oie La Roque Gageac
Built in stone, Plume D’Oie sits above a Boulangerie in the Main Street of La Roque-Gageac. The best end of the street for sure. It spans 3 levels, the lower is a spacious sitting room with access to the street, the second is the main floor with master bedroom, kitchen and separate dining room and bathroom. The kitchen has access to a private outdoor terrace at the rear of the property. There is outdoor dining and seating here and a BBQ. You can also exit the property this way rather then go downstairs onto the street. The 3rd and upper level has 2 good sized bedrooms both with bathrooms. The kitchen is well appointed which makes it a pleasure to use. The location is spectacular with views over the Dordogne River and beyond. At the rear of the property the massive stone cliffs tower above with remains of an ancient fort as well as caves inhabited by the troglodytes in the past . This is a wonderful village to spend time in France. Our hosts were most obliging if we had any issues. We would recommend this property.

Fantastic holiday
A big thank you to Marc and Jennie who are brilliant hosts. They were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful . The property was spotless, spacious and very well equipped. The location couldn’t be better, beautiful views all round and a lovely terrace garden in which we enjoyed many bbqs. There were fresh flowers throughout the house and having essentials in the fridge and a beautiful bowl of fruit on arrival made us feel at home straight away . We’d definitely like to go again .

Charming apartment
Marc met us at the apartment at 8 o’clock in the evening and showed us around. He and his wife came back in the morning with tips on internet and what to see. We prefer staying in traditional accommodations instead of modern hotels and this fit the bill. We had river views from 2 rooms and the rock wall from another. We enjoyed our stay here very much.
P.S. The bakery downstairs didn’t seem to have fresh products the 3 times we shopped there.

Heart of the Dordogne
Many villages in the Dordogne seem to come straight out of a fairytale and La Roque-Gageac is maybe the most magical of all (according to many travel guides, not just me).
La Plume D'Oie is in the heart of the village. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room watching the Dordogne river flow by. In the evening, we sat in the flower garden in the back trying the regional foods we bought from the market or just for a drink. The days that we did not cook, we tried the local dishes in the restaurants just next door or down the street. It was so nice and relaxing to have all these options so close by. We visited in early July and expected somewhat of a crowd but it was surprisingly quiet and we had no problem getting a last minute table at the restaurant for example.
Even for much of our sight seeing, we just stayed locally: hiking through the beautiful country side, renting a kayak, or just going for a swim in the river. When we did go out, e.g. to the Lascaux caves or the farmer market in Sarlat, the drive were easy as well as La Rogue-Gageac is quite central.
Last but not least, Marc and Jenny are wonderful hosts. They greeted us at our arrival and made us feel at home. They told us many things about the history of the house and gave us recommendations for shopping, restaurants etc. The kitchen was stocked with essentials and more (cooking oll, spices, coffee, fruit, butter, ...).
We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back in the future!

Great stay with an excellent host
This beautiful three-story property is located right by the Dordogne river in this picturesque town. Previously a bed and breakfast, it is very well furnished, and the kitchen well equipped. The place was very well kept and clean, and the host can't be friendlier and more attentive. The surroundings can be a bit busy during the day, but it didn't bother us because we were generally out and about until the evenings, when the town was back to its sleepy self. We stayed almost a week, and had a great time using it as a base to explore the fascinating and history-rich region. Kayaking out of La Roque Gageac is very convenient. Would recommend this property most definitely.

Beautiful location
A lovely property situated in one of the prettiest villages in the Dordogne. Mark & Jenny are wonderful hosts, greeting us on arrival with a wonderful hamper of fruit and other essentials. The house is comfortable and very well equipped. we enjoyed a BBQ in the lovely garden. Restaurants and bars are right on your doorstep with a bakery next door. My only grumble is that the main road runs past the house separating the house and river. I found it noisy at night, especially on warm nights with the windows open. Also the living room has glass doors onto the street which meant passers we're always staring. A small price to pay for a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend it

Visit was too short!
We had a wonderful time at this property, so much so that we didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back! The house itself is well appointed and equipped particularly the three en suites plus extra loo and courtyard for eating outside. The village itself is wonderful - busy during the day but peaceful at night. We enjoyed being based here. The canoeing trips from the town are great and there is so much to do in the area. Mark was super welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.

Plenty of room, nice place to eat outside, good for family stay
The property is located in a beautiful small town along the Dordogne River, bedrooms were comfortable with fans despite the record heat wave the week of Aug 2-6. Marc had an ice machine next door which we used everyday to use in drinks as well as coolers. Ice is hard to find anywhere. We ate outside on their patio along with their cat! The weekend we were there was the towns annual festival so it was noisy on the street and went till 2:00am in the morning, however, once the event was over the noise level dropped significantly. We enjoyed our stay despite the heat and it worked out well for our family of 6. I gave it our stay a 3 star rating because of the heat otherwise it was a wonderful place

Stunning location and exemplary host
We were a group of 5 traveling in Europe for a month. We stayed here for almost a week to enjoy the scenery, food, wine and prehistory of the region. Marc and Jennie went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Marc directed us to markets, local growers and even procured fresh trout for us from the local fish farmer. We had great conversations and enjoyed time spent on the rear garden area. The accommodations worked well for our group. Everything was clean, neat and comfortable. We will be back! The only thing I would point out to fellow travelers is that there are steps between levels with the sitting area one floor below the kitchen and dining areas. But—fact is—we used the dining area and the outdoor patio for our sitting areas and they worked perfectly. You could not find better hosts.
