This house is very much someone's home, but it is a lovely home. Wildly eclectic, the owner's inspired mixture of art and kitsch make this a curated, but very comfortable, home. And the deck in the back yard is perfect for reading and relaxing. The place was so seductive, that we spent almost as much time there as we did in the city. And if you are a cook, it includes a fine, fully equipped kitchen. In a quiet neighborhood, near historical city and beach. Good butcher and grocer nearby. The towel and sheet rental was odd, I suggest the owner, a charming woman, fold it into rental fee.

Ein Hoch auf die französische " l'art de vivre français"

Wer das Meer, den Wind, gutes Essen und Wein liebt ist an der französischen Atlantik Küste gut aufgehoben. Soweit bekannt, aber la Rochelle und Umgebung haben noch viel mehr zu bieten. Es gibt für jedes Alter Interessantes. Zum Beispiel das tolle Aquarium, welches eines der größten in Europa ist. Ebenso gibt es jede Menge geschichtliches zu erkunden oder diverse Museen. Besonders schön ist es abends am alten Hafen in einer der unzähligen Bars und Restaurants zu sitzen oder an einem der Stadtstrände den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten. Unsere Unterkunft lag so zentral, dass wir alle diese Dinge in wenigen Minuten mit den Fahrrädern erreichen konnten und es bei uns trotzdem total ruhig war, so dass wir auch auf der Terrasse im charmanten Garten sitzen und ausruhen konnten. Die Unterkunft ist eigentlich das zu Hause der netten Vermieterin und entsprechend sehr persönlich eingerichtet. Darauf muss man sich einlassen können. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Noch ein Tip: Umbedingt Fahrräder mitnehmen oder vor Ort mieten. In la Rochelle und Umgebung gibt es ein super ausgebautes Radwegenetz. Mit dem Rad kommt man dort, im Gegensatz zum Auto, überall hin.

Le cadre de vie dans cette maison est idéal. Il ne manque rien que ce soit en accessoires de cuisine, en livre, en cd. La déco est superbe. L'emplacement est idéal pour les balades en centre ville, la plage, les parcs et les restos pas besoin de prendre son véhicule. Très bon accueil par notre hôte. Nous conseillons très vivement

wunderschönes Haus, zentral gelegen, toll ausgestattet

Das Haus liegt in einer relativ ruhigen Einbahnstraße mitten in La Rochelle. Strand, alter Hafen, Aquarium, Altstadt, Fußgängerzone etc. sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Das Haus ist hervorragend ausgestattet, der Garten lädt zum Verweilen ein, das Gartenhaus als zusätzlich volleingerichtete Wohnung bot unseren mitreisenden Teenagern ein eigenes Reich, in das sie sich zurückziehen konnten.
