On arrival check-in was easy, host was very helpful over WhatsApp and the villa seemed lovely. Hot as no air-con (this is definitely needed) but the placed looked fine. It was late at night. We encountered some issues which were rectified straight away by host/maintenance. Everything you need is there, fully equipped kitchen etc, WiFi (but this doesn’t cover upstairs or the garden) We noticed a green substance around the water line of the pool. Host stated to prevent this we needed to wash our sunscreen off before entering the pool (how can we expect kids to play safely in the water with no sunscreen) as this is the cause. The surrounding pools clear. We then were informed we would lose water for maybe over 24hrs! Host suggested we use pool water to swill down the toilet, or move out if we weren’t happy and have a refund for the 3 nights that we left. It was impossible to find alternative accommodation so last minute and within the refund price range. Host did not offer to buy water to help with washing etc, we had to buy that. Water was off for just over 24hrs. Cleaners came at 6/7 day point (lovely couple) and changed beds, towels and cleaned villa. The second bedroom upstairs, black mold. In the bedroom and bathroom. Black mold is a health hazard. The host was now a little offhand (given all the issues we’d had) I felt uneasy contacting him about it. It was cleaned off, but had returned the following day. We removed our daughter from the room
