This was a tale of 2 properties. The staff and food were great, the property itself was marginal. Very tiny room, no hot water on arrival (fixed by staff), very noisy bathroom fan, but worst of all, some kind of god-awful industrial burnt-wire, overflowing ashtray smell that would pervade the room in the middle of the night. And it wasn't just us. Others mentioned it too. It would eventually go away with the bathroom extraction fan running flat out but it took at least an hour and it was in the middle of the night, so sleep was affected. And with pillows like sand bags, that didn't help. I wouldn't stay here again.

Very clean and quiet location. Very helpful staff from front desk to dining room. Buffet breakfast was highlight of the day. Location is very close to Fushimi Inari. However , need to take the train to Kyoto Station.

Great hotel just outside of Fushimi Inari. Two train stations close by. A lovely bakery next door and Family Mart over the road which was very convenient. We had a pleasant stay.

Urban hotel was a nice hotel with the amenities you expect of a hotel, plus a coin operated laundromat on two different floors. It’s close to train stations and Fushimi Inari shrine. The staff were always pleasant and greeted you each time you entered.

Pros- Friendly and helpful staff Well maintained Good location (near to Fushimi Inari) Allows keeping luggage for few hours after checkout Cons- Hotel doesn't provide water bottles in room. Though they have water dispenser available in the reception. Compact rooms but I guess that's common for Japan.
