A very small room like a studio apartment in Tokyo. It reminded me of kids room in IKEA showrooms. It was nice to have a good sized bathtub to soak. Comfortable pajamas.

Kumamoto Stay

This is a very creative hotel with unique guest rooms but watch your head as the upper level is the sleeping place so the living area below has a low ceiling. Very interesting and creative but found it somewhat different to navigate at night as you need to go down the right stairs to the bathroom. The staff is excellent and very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good and in six types to select from. You can even borrow sleep shirt and pants. There are washers and dryers available. Overall very good but “watch your head.”

Location right next to station but parking instructions were unclear and confusing. The loft bedding is a plus however the usage of sofa bed was not setup even though booking already indicated # of pax. Amenities in room was also not prepared and needed to be requested.

I want to share my first disappointing hotel experience in Japan after spending over 200 hotel nights in the country in recent years. I prefer to book a larger room, so when I saw that the OMO5 hotel had a room advertised to accommodate up to six people at a reasonable price—though they didn’t specify the room size—I decided to book it. When I arrived, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the room was essentially a large bunk bed taking up most of the space, the distance between the floor and the top bunk is just 5 feet (about 150 cm). I kept bumping my head every five minutes and had to hunch the entire time! I went to the front desk and pleaded with them to change my room type, offering to pay any price difference. However, they flatly refused, stating that my booking was non-refundable and non-changeable. They told me that if I wanted a different room, I would have to make a completely new reservation—essentially booking and paying for two rooms. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. This hotel obviously has a following and plenty of people like it, but it was not for me (at least this bunk bed room type) In the end, I left the room unused, and moved to a different hotel. P. S. I wanted to upload some photos, but didn’t see a way to do that.

LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!

Incredible find!!!!! I loved the floor plan of my room so much, I honestly feel so spoiled with the layout! I stayed with my friend and we both got our own bed with a desk in the middle, giving us our own space. Such a wonderful hotel in a convenient location. The staff was super friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend to my mother/friends lol and I would come again. 15/10
