Podpec: Country Cottage in the countryside with absolute privacy

The small house made of stone of granny Maria is located in the small carsic village of Podpeč, in the slovenian Istria. Built in the XV century under the Kraơki rob and renewed in 2000.
In her three rooms there is enough space up to four persons, in a perfect environment for the lovers of beauty, nature and culture of our ancestors.
The quietness, the vegetation and the flowers surround this "sleeping beauty".
Furnished with care in an old way (poor art) with handmade pieces coming from different places we love (Istria, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, Sicily,...); the combination of modern and restored objects make it comfortable and nifty.
The big garden, equipped with chairs, table and sunbeds is perfect to enjoy a good meal or just relax.

Quaint little cottage

Much care is taken for this little home. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. The location is close to many places to adventure. The host was very welcoming.

A wonderful visit!

My wife and I travel often and we have never received a more warm and hospitable welcome than from Neva and her husband. The house is amazing, built in the 1500’s and nicely updated. The location is convenient to explore the area and in a small cute town high on a hill. We made new friends during our visit and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend if you are looking for a central home base for a few days and would like to meet some wonderful people.

Best of both worlds

As we drove the last back lanes into Podpec we wife described this as "the middle of nowhere". Among the beautiful garden, in such a special house and in a town where no one seems to have built a new house for a few hundred years - it's true, in the nicest way. But it's also the centre of everywhere. Within half an hour by car and you can be swimming in Italy, dinning in Trieste, wandering around Piran, shopping in Koper or exploring huge cave systems. A little more time and there's Croatia not to mention the rest of Slovenia. But whatever we saw or did, we always looked forward to returning to an evening meal from the BBQ on the old stone and among the flowering plants. We stayed 10 days but if that was 10 weeks I think Neva could have still been telling us places to see, Thanks Neva and Alfio.

A Hidden Gem in Podpeč – An Unforgettable Stay!We had an absolutely wonderful time at this charming holiday home in Podpeč, Slovenia. Ein Ort voller Geschichte und Herzlichkeit...Unser Aufenthalt in dem ĂŒber 500 Jahre alten Ferienhaus in Podpeč war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis. Neva hat das Haus und den Garten mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und eine AtmosphĂ€re geschaffen, in der man sich sofort willkommen fĂŒhlt.Besonders bereichernd waren die GesprĂ€che mit Neva ĂŒber die Geschichte des Hauses und des Dorfes. Die Lage ist ideal fĂŒr AusflĂŒge ans Meer, nach Kroatien oder Italien. Auch das nahegelegene Höhlensystem Ć kocjan ist absolut beeindruckend und definitiv einen Besuch wert. Danke Neva und Alfio fĂŒr diesen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt, der Geschichte, Natur und Gastfreundschaft perfekt vereinte!

Uriges Haus in den Bergen

Wir haben die Zeit in Podpec sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr alt und sehr speziell und eine Reise wert. Man kann von dort schöne Wanderungen beginnen, aber auch mit dem Auto schnell am Meer und in Triest sein. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. So etwas haben wir noch nicht erlebt!! wir sind als Fremde gekommen und als Freunde gegangen! Danke Neva und Alfio!

Wonderful house

Ein absolutes Juwel in Slowenien

Die lange Suche nach einem besonderem Ferienhaus in Slowenien hat sich gelohnt. Unser Aufenthalt in dieser wunderschönen Landschaft, in diesem einzigartigen Ferienhaus war traumhaft. Das Gastgeberehepaar hat uns schon unten an der Straße erwartet und uns den Weg zum Ferienhaus gezeigt. Nach einer kurzen EinfĂŒhrung zum Haus, hatten wir Zeit unsere Sachen zu verstauen und schon stand ein ganz leckeres und vor allem landestypisches Abendbrot auf unserer Terrasse. Neva und Alfio gaben uns gute Tips zum Besuch der SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten in der nĂ€heren Umgebung und ruhigen Strandabschnitten. Zum Meer fĂ€hrt man mit dem Auto eine halbe Stunde, so dass es sich lohnt auch am Abend nur mal schnell zur AbkĂŒhlung dorthin zu fahren. Wir waren tagsĂŒber meistens unterwegs und haben am Abend die Stille auf dem Dorf und um unser Ferienhaus herum sehr genossen. Das Haus selbst ist mit einer außerordentlichen Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und es ist alles vorhanden, um einen unbeschwerten Urlaub dort zu verleben. Liebe Neva, lieber Alfio, habt ganz herzlichen Dank fĂŒr die interessanten GesprĂ€che, eure Tips und das leckere Obst und GemĂŒse was ihr immer ganz heimlich fĂŒr uns hingestellt habt. Wir haben lange noch nicht alles bei euch entdeckt und kommen gerne wieder :-).

Le charme naturel SlovĂšne

L’adorable maison de Neva et Alfio est dĂ©corĂ©e avec beaucoup de cƓur et d’ñme Elle est pleine de vaisselles anciennes et d’objets pittoresques qui ont ce charme de « l’antan ». Sur son flanc, une jolie terrasse de pierre oĂč nous avons passĂ© de merveilleux repas et petit dĂ©jeuner. Le magnifique jardin, surplombĂ© d’une tour fortifiĂ©e, est plein d’arbres fruitiers, de plantes odorantes ( sauge, sauge ananas, marjolaine, thym origan, mĂ©lisse 
) et de fleurs. Au fond, la vue sur les coteaux de vignes et la mer adriatique au bout est splendide, idĂ©ale pour y voir de somptueux couchers de soleil. Neva et Alfio nous ont fait bel accueil, avec des denrĂ©es pour le petit dĂ©jeuner du lendemain ( cafĂ© tisane biscotte confiture maison ) ainsi que le tout premier repas du soir, prĂ©parĂ© et offert par nos adorables hĂŽtes particuliĂšrement attentionnĂ©s. Nous apprendrons Ă  les connaĂźtre au fur Ă  mesure du sĂ©jour et allons faire une merveilleuse rencontre. Ils nous ont fait dĂ©couvrir leur beau pays au travers de leur conseils avisĂ©s. L’emplacement idĂ©al du gĂźte nous a permis de sillonner ce magnifique pays, de la cĂŽte et ses villages typiques a la capitale Ljubljana, ses chĂąteaux et grottes, mais aussi la Croatie et ses villages perchĂ©s. Nous ne pouvons que vous conseiller de venir Ă  la rencontre de ces deux gĂ©nĂ©reuses personnes, de profiter de leur gĂźte Ă  l’ambiance d’antan et d’y vivre comme nous, un moment hors du temps, apaisant pour le corps et l’esprit dans ce cadre verdoyant.

Perfect Vacation in Podpec

My husband and I have stayed in Podpec for one week.The house was exactly as we found and saw it on the website. The garden is beautiful! It was big enough for the both of us. We only used the bathroom on the ground floor,so there is still place. The hosting was perfect and we felt really comfortable.We had time for us,but also could go to Neva and her husband if we need help,had questions or just wanted to talk :) From the house you can do a lot of hikings.You can directly start from the house and can hike to the castle you see on the picture.There you have a beautiful view over the ocean and the hills. We did three hiking tours around 15-20 km and they all have been interesting and needed normal condition. There are churches to visit,caves,historical monuments and it is very close to the border of Italy and Croatia. The ocean is 20-30 minutes away with the car. There are also many restaurants but you have to drive there,because it’s too far (minimum 1 hour) to walk. You have everything you need to cook at yourself in the house. Thank you Neva for the beautiful week :)

Zauberhaftes Haus mit großem Garten

Wir waren im Juni mit Hund, 2 Erwachsenen, 2 Teenagern dort. Die sehr herzlichen Gastgeber wohnen auf dem GrundstĂŒck unterhalb am Hang und stehen jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Das Haus ist hĂŒbsch traditionell eingerichtet, und mit allem, was man braucht (z.B. WLAN, Fliegengitter, verdunkelnde VorhĂ€nge). OG: 2 Betten, KĂŒche, Esstisch. UG: 2 Betten, Bad mit Dusche und WC. Das UG ist sowohl ĂŒber eine Treppe innerhalb des Hauses erreichbar (eine FalltĂŒr kann bei Bedarf geschlossen werden) oder ĂŒber einen separaten Eingang von Außen. Garten voller Rosen, KrĂ€uter und ObstbĂ€umen, Sitzgelegenheiten zum Essen und Relaxen. Das typische Karst-Haus steht auf einem Karst-Hang unterhalb eines Turms. Möglichkeit zum Wandern oder Mountainbiken am Hang und auf der Hochebene. Mit GlĂŒck kann man Tiere sehen wie Reh, Schlange oder Fuchs. Trotz dörflicher Lage gute Verkehrsanbindung. Bahnhof in Hrastovlje nebenan. Italienische Stadt Triest in 30 min per Auto erreichbar, kroatische Grenze noch nĂ€her. Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, slowenische SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten wie StrĂ€nde, Höhlen, KĂŒstenstĂ€dte liegen ebenfalls nah.

Ein wunderbar gepflegtes und liebevoll erhaltenes Juwel

Wir waren fĂŒr vier Tage GĂ€ste in Neva und Alvios wunderbar renovierten und geschmackvoll eingerichtetetem HĂ€uschen und durften die unĂŒbertreffliche Gastfreundschaft dieser sehr besonderen Menschen genießen. Es war eine herrliche Zeit dort und wir haben viele Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den herzlichen Vermietern und unserem Leben in Deutschland entdeckt. Die beiden sind die nettesten Gastgeber, die wir je hatten und Alvios phantastischer Wein und Nevas KrĂ€uter haben uns weit ĂŒber unseren Aufenthalt hinaus die Zeit unvergesslich gemacht. Blumenpracht

wir haben 2 wundervolle Wochen in dem besonderen Ferienhaus von Neva und Alvio verbracht. Beide sind sehr freundliche und umsorgende Gastgeber. Wir haben viele wichtige Tipps fĂŒr AusflĂŒge und Wanderungen von Neva erhalten. Die unmittelbare Umgebung bietet herrliche Wandermöglichkeiten mit fantastischen Ausblicken. Da Kroatien nicht weit ist konnten wir viele der alten kroatischen Dörfer besuchen. Der von Neva so wundervoll gestaltete Garten bietet gute Möglichkeit sich zu entspannen und zu trĂ€umen. Triest ist nur einige Kilometer entfernt. Wir haben die Stadt und auch das Schloss Miramare als sehr lohnenswerte Ausflugsziele erlebt. Überhaupt bietet dieser Standort viele Möglichkeiten fĂŒr eindrucksvolle AusflĂŒge.

Wie im Paradies

Im Paradies könnte es kaum besser sein. FĂŒr naturverbundene Menschen ist dieser Ort mit diesem Haus und seinem vielfĂ€ltigen Garten wohl einzigartig . Wunderschön und mit sehr viel Herz und Liebe wurde hier jedes Detail umgesetzt. Neva und Alfio waren sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Wir sind sehr dankbar das wir hier sein durften.

Inspirierender Ort der Begegnung

FĂŒr alle Ruhesuchenden ein Übertraum

Wir hatten großes GlĂŒck bei der Auswahl des Ortes auf dieses unglaublich liebevoll restaurierte HĂ€uschen mit den wohl sympathischsten und gastfreundlichsten Gastgebern Sloweniens gestoßen zu sein. Wir durften 10 Tage in diesem Paradies verbringen und danken Neva & Alfio sehr fĂŒr das „VersĂŒĂŸen“ unseres Aufenthalts mit leckeren FrĂŒchten und Leckereien aus dem Garten. Von ihr erhielten wir auch tolle Ausflugstipps. Direkt von der Unterkunft aus gibt es etliche Wanderwege, unter anderem eine sehr schöne zum Turm direkt oberhalb. Die sehenswerten KĂŒstenorte von Slowenien sind mit dem Auto in circa 30 Minuten erreichbar. Auch Trieste und Ljubljana, kroatische Bergdörfer (zB Motovun) sowie die bekannten Tropfsteinhöhlen sind mit dem Auto schnell erreicht. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und die KĂŒche ist gut ausgestattet. Eines ist klar, wir kommen wieder! 1000 Dank fĂŒr den erholsamen Aufenthalt in Eurem TraumHĂ€uschen. A&F&R :-*
