The room stunk with smell of chemical. When I reported they said they have no other room available. They said the smell of chemical coming out of the carpet that they have sprayed with chemicals. We stayed out of the room most of the time. We were at the front desk and requested to make a local call since I did not have the local sim card. They told me to go back to my room and make the charge call. When at the desk there were many people hanging out with cell phones could have helped us make the important call. Left and right side of the hotel entrance was full of filth. The hotel management did not care how right outside the hotel looks. The breakfast bar did not have enough healthy choice. The menu was tired and boring. I paid about 180 dollars per night for a room for two two nights. They hiked up the price since there was a marriage day for locals. Overall the hotel lacked leadership and employees did not take pride in their job. I will not return to this hotel and most likely stay at the taj at the city center two location.

Only here for a night. Obstacle course to get to the hotel from the airport terminal. Wish they had mentioned that so I could have accepted the paid pickup. But once I got to the hotel it was like entering a haven. Everything about the place was wonderful. This is the second IHG Express I have stayed at this year. The first at Melbourne City & now Kolkata & both of equal standard. Generous room size. Great amenities. I enjoyed everything about both hotels & shall look for them in my future travels. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

A noisy Indian wedding with loud music on the premises till 11 pm was uncalled for. Airline passengers chose this hotel for it’s proximity to the airport to get a good rest in between flights. It’s absolutely unacceptable to hold a loud wedding with extended late night music on it’s premises. The staff was ill equipped to handle the wedding crowd and regular guests

I used to be a regular visitor at this property. Lately the service quality has gone down considerably. Given the nature of the property (express hotel), amenities are fine, but staff needs to be trained to uphold the standards of the brand. I found that lacking. I would not recommend this to my friends and family. There are other brands that have much better service at similar price points.

I booked this hotel as it was near the airport and i had an early morning flight. I was only in the hotel for 7 hours. The room was dirty (there were crumbs all of the table and hair in the bathroom). I was glad i was not staying the night. The food was okay but not memorable.
