When we arrived at the resort after a long taxi ride, we received a fantastic welcome from the staff. Martin (the Guest Manager) quickly seated us at a table in the lounge, where we were served a refreshing drink and cold towels. He took care of the entire check-in process there and explained how everything works at the resort. While we were waiting for our room to be ready—we arrived well before check-in—we were served afternoon tea. The rooms at this resort offer a spectacular view, as it is built along a mountainside overlooking the ocean. We were completely overwhelmed. The staff at this resort are absolutely wonderful. Everyone makes sure you have everything you need and is always happy to stop for a friendly chat, which makes the experience feel very personal. They remember what we usually order and ask the next time if we would like to have the same again. Examples of staff groups we interacted with include the lounge, breakfast, reception, traffic control, housekeeping, gardening, transport/shuttle, restaurant, and bar staff. Every single one of them is outstanding.

It’s a nice property, but needs a renovation and new management. The Swedish manager that I suffer is not capable of making a decent team of his employees and even keep the property clean at the level of their pricing. The employees have goodwill but when a property is badly manage the team becomes an operational nightmare. We have spent a wonderful time staying in a family villa with 2 bedrooms for 4 nights. The villa is comfortable and spacious. The ocean view was terrific and, in particular, excellent for the sunset. The servicing team was sincere and helpful. 😃😃

Amazing views & fantastic staff

The Intercontinental is in a beautiful location on the West Coast of Koh Samui with stunning views and sunsets. The room was extremely spacious and was nicely decorated. Staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable.
