The staff really make this place, especially Jean who very was friendly and helpful towards my elderly father. The hotel room was a little dated but very clean, the bar area was pleasant to sit in the evening. Breakfast was in the dining room, there is no natural light which made it feel cave like! It's a buffet breakfast, good enough choice of cereals, fruit etc but the hot food choices were over cooked and cold. This hotel is great if you are visiting a Kilkenny for a short break, it's near the railways station, shopping centre and a short walk into the city centre. I would stay here again but on a room only basis.

its ok, a bit tired, in the area, in general service isn't going to be Japan or USA type, nothing wrong, room is years past remodel but good location, of course no fridge in room, no ac, but it will work, I would say for heavy drinker that wants pub in ground floor and that drinking is priority its ok.

Staff were warm and couldn’t have been more helpful. Put me in a room at far end from night’s entertainment, allowed me to leave my luggage for a couple of hours, printed off my travel documents etc. Despite the unattractive menu design the food was very good. G/F options at breakfast. Will happily use again. Thank you!

The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. Easy check-in and check-out. The morning breakfast in the White Oak Room was pretty good with a varied menu. The 2 bars were fine. Average bar food. The location was great. Within walking distance of everywhere including plenty of pubs, restaurants, tourist locations etc. etc. The public areas of the hotel were in pretty good shape and well kept. But the rooms were pretty old and dated. Especially the bathrooms which had one of those old shower curtains that sticks to your body as you shower!! A bit yuk!! But the place was very clean overall. And for the price, you got value for your money.

Great Hotel

Hotel is clean and comfortable, there is parking behind the hotel which is included. Rooms are nice, there are better in Kilkenny but you pay the premium for that. Hotel is right in the centre, so can walk to wherever you want to. Had soup and a sandwich in the attached pub/restaurant which was very nice and the bread was exceptionally fresh. The Irish breakfast in the morning was perfectly cooked and as good as I have every had to be honest, and I have had a few in my time. Overall very happy, fantastic value for money, and I will not hesitate to stay again.

Hotel was a bit odd. Small front doors, lobby has a stuffed tiger in it which is cool. Room was not our favorite. The elevated tub has a shower curtain that won’t stop sticking to you. Toilet would also run for over an hour. Place felt old and outdated but it was ok for the price.
