Beautiful view

Coldwell banker was fantastic to communicate with, Makena Surf property grounds and amenities are wonderful, location on two beautiful beaches can't be beat and the view from the kitchen/main living area/patio of this condo is fantastic. Condo could use some refreshing but didn't detract much from our stay on beautiful Maui.

Spring Break Getaway

Property grounds is what sells this place! Its gorgeous, close to the beach, on site gym and well kept. Two pools is a great option when traveling with kids.

Second Stay Still Amazing

This is our second time staying in this property and once again, it did not disappoint. Superb location and views. We watched whales from our lanai daily. It doesn't get any better than that!

This property had a great view and was very large. We had issues with the air conditioner. It did not cool the condo sufficiently, especially in the afternoon. There was no communication with the host. I had to call Coldwell Banker to get the info. You must take into account that some guest may fly a day or two earlier and stay in a hotel to avoid a 9 hr, plane ride. Hence, I do not feel 3 days is enough notice!

Snorkeling Suite!

Wonderful, spacious condo! Right on the ocean, with excellent snorkeling out front and south to five graves. Beaches to the north (short walk) are gorgeous for swimming and sunsets.

Great location and view

Makena Surf is wonderful. We've stayed at a few units at this location. This unit is similar to others but needs a few upgrades. Some of the smaller details were missing or needed attention but overall, it was a good experience. The water dispenser in the fridge broke when we were there and management did their best to help the situation by bringing us water and ice.

The grounds of the Makena surf are great, however the condo itself was not great from a maintenance perspective; The Mattress was uncomfortable, The ceiling fan didn’t work, the refrigerator froze our food and the ice maker didn’t work The bbq ran out of propane after 2 uses I would recommend the Makena surf as a property, however I would not recommend this particular unit for the issues noted above

Glorious views

Absolutely perfect setting. The condo was very clean and everything was wonderful. The view was spectacular - we watched whales and sunsets right from our lanai. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, tired furnishings and decor

We loved the location and natural beauty of this condo complex. We were disappointed with the furnishings and decor. They were dated and not aesthetically coordinated.

Beautiful views!

The condo had amazing views, and is located a short walk from one of the famous “turtle beaches” in Maui. The snorkeling was amazing! The condo was very nice, though the mattress on the pull-out sofa needs to be replaced. We spent most of our time on the lanai overlooking offshore islands and beautiful sunsets. Our only minor issue occurred when the water dispenser in the refrigerator leaked. We called the property manager, who said a maintenance person would be out the next day. No one came to fix it before we checked out 2 days later. Overall, though, the place, the location, the Makena Surf facilities were all top notch.

Tranquility, Beauty and Turtles in SW Maui

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. When we walked in, the view captivated us. Really loved the heavy duty double sliding glass doors making up a wall of windows. Also loved that it was a corner unit giving it an open feel on the lanai. It felt spacious at over 1300 sf and had everything we needed in supplies and amenities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and groomed. Lots of birds singing on the property made it really feel like a tropical paradise. Everyone around was friendly and respectful of the rules. We will definitely stay here again!

Great location

The overall condo complex is just amazing. Well maintained and right on a real nice reef and Beach. The corner or end unit like this is particularly nice as you have Windows along the side which really open up the space to make you feel like you're sitting outside even when you're inside. The furniture is very comfortable and arranged well for a group to socialize or watch the tv. The kitchen is well stocked for your cooking needs. There are a few minor maintenance issues but these were easy to look over. It would have been nice to have had a boogie board or two and some umbrellas in the box where they store the chairs as most other units will do. That said it's very easy to get yourself set up by calling Maui vacation rental equipment. You can order the stuff from home and have a delivered on your arrival date to your condo

wouldn't book this place again

Very old inside. Refrigerator new but everything else original. This place really needs an update. Location maybe the best ever, but furniture very old and smelly. kitchen appliances poor. we bought and left a toaster oven. we brought and took back a printer and a DVD player.

Excellent property with awesome view

This condo is very comfortable and spacious with a spectacular view. The location is great. The beach is just steps away with the best snorkeling. We saw beautiful fish, coral, and a few turtles. My only recommendation would be to upgrade the lounge chairs on the terrace. They were not so comfortable to sit in (maybe they just need the strings replaced) - luckily the chairs around the terrace table were fine so we sat on those. Besides that everything else was perfect.

We've stayed at Makena Surf previously, and were a bit concerned that our family might not find it as perfect as we had. Not to worry. Six of us stayed reasonably comfortably in a 2br unit, and the amenities are out of this world. Extremely convenient to the beach and some of the best snorkeling that Maui has to offer.

Ideal vacation venue

Perfectly situated on the extension of Wailea Alanui Drive called Makena Alanui (almost exactly 1/2 way between the stretch of 4+ star hotels (Four Seasons, Fairmont) and the Big Beach of Makena State Park). Gorgeously maintained property, spectacular ocean views from the deck. Could not have been happier.
