We booked a suite expecting to have a kitchen. There was a microwave & mini fridge that comes in most hotel rooms. There was a kitchen sink but no dishes, utensils, napkins, dish soap, etc. There was a cutting board but no knife! The gutters outside had not been cleaned in a long time so with every gust of wind, debris rained down on the balcony. We requested a broom and swept the balcony twice a day. We also swept the floors in our suite as they were dirty. Housekeeping was supposed to be done every 3rd day. We had text messages on each of the service days that they did not have enough staff to service our room. I said our trash was overflowing, and was told I could put it in the dumpster! When I complained that I was paying over $400 per night for 6 nights and should not have to do self service, they found a housekeeper to “clean” the room. For being a resort with resort fees, I would expect more. There are no drawers in the entire suite for our clothes. There are no hooks or towel bars. There are only 5 hangers. “Amenities” are available for rent (beach towels, etc). Coffee & tea are only available until 7:00pm which we were informed at check in; it does not say limited time on the website.
The website does not tell us that there are no elevators and that we would need to able to climb steps.
Upon checkout, we discovered separate charges for “hotel” as well as tax on that charge. What is the hotel charge? We already paid over $400 per night for the room.
