This renovated condo in the Shipwatch complex is steps away from the gorgeous Kiawah Island and just minutes from tennis and golf. Feel the ocean breeze as you sip your morning coffee on one of the decks, then step inside to make breakfast. The kitchen was just outfitted with new stainless appliances, and also features updated cabinetry and granite countertops.

Dine together at the table for six, and then head out to explore. It’s an easy walk to a private beach entrance, just for Shipwatch guests and owners. You are so close to the ocean you can hear it from the deck. There's onsite tennis as well if you want to sneak in a game. This corner unit not only features more outdoor space, with all the open-air decks, but also provides additional privacy. I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE…Our stay was a little less than what we expected…for starters, we were greeted on the first night by roaches. Not Palmetto Bugs like in the binder or what we see outside in the South but actual roaches that we could see scurry back to their opening in the wall. They were still there the second morning and we promptly let VACASA know. We asked several times throughout the day about having someone in to spray. We never got a confirmation that they came but we didn’t see the bugs again. We’ve stayed in this building multiple times and NEVER had a bug issue. I truly hope we didn’t bring any home. Additionally, we didn’t have a key fob to the beach. We got a snarky copy/paste response from the check in email about where to find the key fob. Obviously we looked there first and it wasn’t there which was why we reached out. As other reviews stated many of the outlets didn’t work. We figured that since it had been reported they would have been fixed by the time we arrived but they had not. It’s ridiculous to not be able to use outlets in the bathrooms or be able to expect things to stay plugged in in the bedrooms. Also, the secondary bedroom does not have a closet to hang things. This should be addressed in some manner with a rack or other way to hang clothing. Lastly, this is a small thing but the unit had a ton of plates, cups and what not, but only 3 knives. So you could serve dinner to a ton of people but they wouldn’t be able to cut up their food.

Wonderful house

We enjoyed our stay! Vacasa moved us from a condo in Kiawah Island to a house in Seabrook Island on a golf course due to a pest issue. We don't play golf but enjoyed the wildlife in the pond with turtles, an alligator and a heron. The house was comfortable, quiet, well-equipped and walking distance from a quiet beach. Lots of jellyfish washed up on shore but we swam anyway. The AC went out one day but they fixed it quickly and credited us for the day. Tree frogs abound.

Great location

I absolutely loved the location of this house. I've been coming to Kiawah for 20 years and sometimes it's hard to rent a house that is close to the beach. This rental is perfect! It's on a quiet street and so close to the boardwalk. I love that it's also a quick bike ride away from Heron Park. The layout of the space was also great. It has a very open living room area and each of the bedrooms are spacious.

Vacasa Controlled Nightmare!

We ask for an early check-in, and were told it would not be available. That was fine, but when we checked in at 4 o’clock, there was no heat in the unit, no power at all. We called and talked to a Vacasa worker, and they said the power was out in the whole community. This was obviously untrue as all the units beside us had power. We were told we would have to wait until the power company came.Next, after waiting another hour, we called again. This time, we were told that the heating unit had a problem. They said they would have to relocate us.We never got to speak to the property owners at all.

Amazing rental

We stayed in this condo for a quick weekend away. It was spacious and clean. The condo was fantastic and located right by the beach. We had plenty of room for the two of us and cooked several meals here. The property managers were super responsive and easy to communicate with. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful place. Nice decor. Very clean . The owner provided a few special touches such as black towels to use if showering after tanning products were applied, make up removal wipes, beach chairs, easy beach access. The oven also had an air fryer option, which was a nice surprise . The nearby Market Towne Center had everything we needed for groceries. Beautiful beach area. Will definitely come back again.

Great location

Great unit and comfy beds and furniture in den, nice TV's. Sliding door screen needs replacing and deck door base needs ro be cleaned as so much sand and grit makes it hard to close. Would rent again!

Great location.

Overall, our stay was great. The location is great and overall cleanliness was good. We did, however, have a couple of hiccups and communication with the property manager was sub par. The outlets in each of the bathrooms were not working. The property management company asked us to find the breaker box and reset the circuit. We couldn’t find the box and assumed it was behind the locked owner door/closet. As we looked for the breaker box, we discovered a bucket collecting water from a leak in the hot water heater room. They asked us to empty the bucket (which we had to empty several times during our stay). This should be addressed with the owners. The night before I left, I happened to look behind a picture in the entry way and discovered the breaker box. It seems that the property manager should have addressed this during our stay. I will stay here again, but would suggest better communication with the property manager if there are any issues

Cozy and convenient

The unit is conveniently located on the first floor in the corner with easy access to both the public and private beach access points. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Bedrooms were spacious. Garbage and laundry were extremely close by. We were provided explicit instructions and had no issues checking in or out.

Surprise! Gated community on Kiawah Island

This is an extremely exclusive area under security for all visitors. We did not expect several hidden fees, taxes and services that are not available. We could not eat at the Pelican Nest on the end of the island as we were turned away at another interior security gate. One grocery store and a restaurant center added to crowding. There is a peculiar odor in the grocery that follows you back to the condo. There are no carts available for loading or unloading. A beautiful location; sadly, unfriendly and over-fee happy. Still under construction.

Due to the loss of power in our unit on the third day, and the complete failure of the property manager to address/correct/communicate with us, we were forced to find a hotel and move 3 days before our stay was to end. Absolutely irresponsible handling of this entire stay. Request immediate contact.

Peaceful escape

My husband and I took our parents for 3 night trip to Charleston. New to visiting this island. Very relaxing golf beach resort vibe. As for this condo, it was clean and bigger:nicer than the pictures. There wasn’t any information in the condo about general check out/ rules, or the beach access path, which we didn’t find until the last day. The outlets in the guest room were loose and didn’t charge any phones. They could use repair and more accessible outlets. No beach views from condo, but it is literally 300 ft to the big quiet flat beach. we loved the complex and would stay on this island again.

Great Stay!!!

We loved being right on the beach after we walked past the dunes. This property gets you as close as you can be to the ocean. Kiawah was beautiful and it was a great location to stay for bike riding, the beach, restaurants, everything!
