Lovely hotel and facilities.
BUT I’m never comfortable with hotels that control the room heating from reception.
Consequently when we arrived and it was 2 degrees outside - the room was freezing! If you control the heating from reception and have guests arriving- I don’t think it’s unreasonable to turn it on from check in time to warm the room so it’s comfortable upon guest arrival. This is obviously a problem as we went to the bar to leave the room to warm up and there were several other guests commenting on exactly the same thing!
To be fair they brought blow heaters as soon as I went to reception to mention this. Also the heated towel rail is turned on with the wall lighting the lounge - which was not easy to notice - but left the bathroom freezing as well!
I think this policy needs a rethink!
