The Landing Hotel is a good basic hotel. The rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. The location is about 2 miles from downtown Ketchikan but convenient to grocery stores, the airport, float plane services and the Alaska Marine Hwy Ferry. The diner in the hotel provides hearty breakfast options.

My room 267 was super musty , opened the window, AC and fan got rid of it by next morning. I arrived early evening and was very hungry from my flight from San Diego. The young woman checked me in not wanting to be there. I noticed the diner was closed so I walked to a small grocery store to get something to eat. On my return I smelled food cooking and found out there is a great restaurant upstairs that serves steaks, seafood and burgers. I wasn't advised of the restaurant upstairs after check-in or later after eating there if I was a guest I would have received a 2O% discount. The property sits across from a large parking lot and there is no other restaurant within a reasonable walking distance. My bed was comfortable, nice sheets and pillows with different firmness. The room was large with a small fridge and microwave, room and bathroom was clean with great towels. Thank you to the woman at the front desk who arranged my ride to the ferry landing to get to the airport as theif shuttle driver was not available.

This property was basic but clean and had everything you could need. Staff was polite and the free transport to the airport ferry was great! It was also nice to be outside of all the craziness of downtown. Super easy still to get to all the restaurants and shops but in a more quiet area. Only complaint is that we happen to be there when it was in the 70s and sunny, and the room was extremely warm. They did have a fan that we set up when we checked in but it didn't really do much. Completely appreciate this is not the norm, so other than that, we had a great stay and would absolutely stay here again.

No staff on site. When you enter, you enter thru a back door and walk thru their kitchen area. Check in was a little confusing for me. But I quickly figured it out. Read all messages carefully. The entry info actually came by text, not email. But we were last minute as we drove into town. Definitely a small town feel. It is an old historical building and absolutely beautifully done. I would stay here again. No hesitancy. No elevator due to age of building. Longer narrow stairs. But it adds to the uniqueness. We look for places like this to stay and we’re happy we found it.

When I checked in they had us in a room with a queen bed. I asked if they had a room with a king. I had prepaid with Expedia. Rather than just change the room, the hotel made a new reservation, and I was charged for 2 rooms that night.
