A one-of-a-kind Ontario cottage, it is on a quiet bend in the Head River and situated on 80 acres of private land, providing groups with unparalleled privacy. Whether it's enjoying outdoors at the firepit and waterfront or enjoying time inside in the cottage's action-packed games room with its own movie theater, this cottage is a perfect vacation getaway year-round!
Winding trails lead through the forest to tranquil riverside seating areas and provide access to your own secluded swimming hole which connects to the river. With 1300 ft of waterfront, you can choose to sit awhile and watch the water sparkling in the sunlight; fish from the bank, wade in from the shallow entry area, take the kayaks out for a paddle or lounge on a hammock. In the evening, enjoy some time around the firepit with ample seating or socialize in a screened sunroom, perfect for large groups to enjoy a meal or enjoy the nighttime breeze.
The property boasts a wealth of hand-crafted woodwork in every room, from the beautiful dining table with seating for 12 to the maple, cherry and oak used in trim, dressers and cabinets. Multiple bedrooms include wall-mounted fireplaces and sitting areas, in case you want to cozy up with a good book. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and one of the bedrooms on the upper floor has its own screened sunroom.
The spacious kitchen has a tiled floor and granite countertops with new appliances and plenty of food preparation space and is separated from the dining area by a large breakfast bar. An attractive sun room is set off the dining room for enjoying a morning coffee and watching the occasional deer pass by.
The large living space is separated into two areas; one with low seating around a table in front of a stone fireplace which is great for playing board games or a morning coffee; the other has comfortable sofas and chairs and is focused on the large flat screen TV. Another fully furnished and sprawling screened sunroom opens from the living room offering additional space for spreading out and enjoying the fresh air. The sunroom includes a dining table with seating for 10.
All five bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have king size beds in all but one, which has two twin beds. There is an additional pullout couch in one of the bedrooms. Two large bedrooms are on the main level - the master has an ensuite bathroom and fireplace and a second bedroom off the hallway has its own sitting area and fireplace. A beautiful pine staircase leads to the upper level where there are three more bedrooms; two with fireplaces and private sitting areas and one with two hand-made log twin beds. There are full bathrooms on each floor.
Beside the cottage, you will get to enjoy the games room where you can battle it out in the game of your choosing. The games room includes a pool table, foosball table, air hockey table and dartboard! The cottage also comes with a huge set of board games and DVD library. Attached to the games room is a movie theater perfect for a late-night movie, although be careful or you may fall asleep in the theater's comfy couches.
Only a 25-minute drive from Orillia and Casino Rama and with lots of nearby golf courses, there are enough activities to keep everyone busy if they can pull themselves away from the tranquility of the waterfront and cottage. For big water boating, Lake Simcoe is close-by and boats can be rented from the marina in Atherley.

ATVs are permitted, but guests are asked to abide by the following guidelines:

* Safety equipment must be worn, as required by law
* Enjoy local trails and be respectful of others on the trail
Waterfront With 1300ft of waterfront you can choose to sit awhile and watch the water sparkling in the sunlight; fish from the bank, wade in from the shallow entry area or jump off a rock and swim in the clear water. One of the beauties of this secluded cottage is that the river is fully private - giving your group full roam of the river and no sounds except nature. There is also a wooden diving platform that is regularly used by the owners. This is to be used at your own risk. As with any platform offering diving/jumping water entry, it is ESSENTIAL that the waters be checked with EACH use to ensure that no underwater hazard has floated into the vicinity since prior usage
Winter Notes
4-Wheel Drive is a must for winter rentals
There is lots to do around the area including lots of great snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails. Guests are free to take advantage of the large acreage and go to a great tobogganing spot, perfect for kids, on the cottage property.
