About the Area: The Country Club Plaza & Surrounding Neighborhood
Nestled in one of Kansas City's most iconic and walkable areas, The View places you just steps away from local favorites like Pizza 51, Mission Taco Joint, Crow’s Coffee, and Duck and Roll Chinese. When you're ready for a little more adventure, a few extra steps will take you into the heart of the historic Country Club Plaza — one of Kansas City’s crown jewels.
The Country Club Plaza: A Kansas City Landmark Originally designed in 1922 by visionary developer J.C. Nichols, the Country Club Plaza was the nation’s first shopping district created specifically with automobiles in mind. Inspired by the grand marketplaces of Spain, the Plaza’s architecture showcases Moorish influences and features more than $1 million in public artwork — including ornate fountains, colorful murals, and more than 30 statues scattered throughout its 15-block district. What was once nicknamed "Nichols' Folly" has become one of Kansas City's most beloved destinations.
Dining & Local Flavors: With over 30 restaurants and 17 outdoor dining patios, the Plaza is a foodie’s dream. Savor Kansas City staples like Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue and Gram & Dun, or try something new at vibrant spots like Parkway Social Kitchen, Rye, or Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. Whether you're craving a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner, there’s truly something to satisfy every appetite.
Visitor Information: Make a stop at Plaza Customer Service (located at 4750 Broadway) for maps, local recommendations, public lounge areas, luxurious restrooms, and complimentary coffee and tea — a perfect mid-shopping break.
Nearby Attractions: The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – Just across the street from your condo, offering world-class exhibits and beautiful sculpture gardens. The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art – A short stroll away, featuring modern and thought-provoking art collections. The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures – Located just south on the UMKC campus, perfect for an afternoon of nostalgic fun.
Parking Note: Please note that this rental does not include a designated parking space. Free street parking is typically available nearby, but during Plaza events or exhibitions at the Nelson-Atkins Museum, parking may be limited.

Weekend getaway gem
The condo was very comfortable and well stocked. The window air conditioning units were adequate but the ceiling fan in the bedroom helped. The location was very accessible to the Plaza, but was expecting reserved parking instead of street parking. The location is busy so sirens and street noise did happen during the night. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend.

Took my wife on a little getaway. The place was everything we were looking for. The location was ideal. Short walks to everything from restaurants, shopping, and Nelson Atkins. Would recommend to anyone trying to have a nice place near the plaza

Clean, Comfy, Cozy
Overall, this was a very pleasant place to stay. Located in an area where many things of interest are within walking distance.Bonus points for having many amenities in the dwelling itself (spices!, a basket of things one might forget [shaving gel, mouthwash, adhesive bandages, sunscreen, etc.) and basically anything necessary for a comfortable stay. However, the dude in 2D is a wake 'n' bake person (in fact, I don't know if ever WASN'T smoking weed) and the floor ALWAYS reeked of weed; it even crept into our space on occasion...impressive, really.I know it isn't something the management can control, but sweet baby Jesus, I make many trips to KC during the year and though I would love to return to this cozy spot, I probably won't because of the stench.

Nice community, close to the art museum
Nice stay, quick response when we needed help. Quaint older apartment building with a strong aroma of Indian food, not a bad thing, unless you don’t like curry! Rooftop patio not as pictured but the park across the street and the short walk to the art museum made it a great stay. Also, well stocked with laundry, kitchen, and bathroom amenities which is always a plus. deck not what was pictured. Great

Property was adequate
The property was very adequate, the property was pitched to be nicer than it actually was, the smell of marijuana loomed throughout the whole building as soon as you stepped inside. The property I stayed at did not have a deadbolt, I’d say it was better than a motel 6

Came for the game
We came to Kansas City for the KC Chiefs Monday night game. The condo was near Country Club Plaza, which was nice as The Plaza had many good restaurants and shops. The condo building was older, with steep steps and stairway, which was a challenge for us, as we are older. But it was clean, cozy, had a comfortable bed, and it worked for us for the three days we were there.

Lovely and Full of Character
We really enjoyed being in such a historic area. We love how so many places have been restored and story these places could tell. This condo was perfect for what we were needing. It was not too difficult to find parking. The elevator is hit or miss, so we opted for stairs. This unit is on the second floor, so not too bad. Going up to the roof is a must. The view day and night is stunning. The unit has been kept up to date very nicely. There is a washer and dryer. The unit is stalked well and very clean. The bed was comfortable. Shower has good water pressure, but tends to spray in every direction and you fight the shower curtain, lol, but again not a deal breaker here. Lots of windows to let in natural light. Could have a little more comfortable couch, but in the grand scheme of things, you aren’t here for long. Over all, this is a beautiful place in a great location with a lot of history and character. Would definitely stay again!

Everything was fine, very comfortable little place
I was a bit frustrated with having to pay $35 and jump through hoops to verify my identity. I have used VRBO many, many times and have never had to do that before.
I know it is legal in Missouri now, but there was a strong cannabis smell in the entryway, in our hall and sometimes the smell made it into our condo.
I would recommend a grab bar in the tub/shower. It is a high threshold and it would be good to have something to hold onto.
Thanks for a nice getaway.
If this isn't posted on the web site that is fine. These are things I thought the owner should know. We loved our visit.
