Great stop at this excellent hotel.

Great stop at this excellent hotel. Friendly staff who were most helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and covered the basic needs for a stop. Excellent bed. Breakfast was also first rate with plenty of choice. A good hotel which we would use again.

A hostel not a hotel

If you are with a family it's not the place to stay. The room is small with the tiniest toilet I have ever been in. I am not large built I found it extemely hard to sit on the wc. The reception closes at 9pm so if you are late and your cell phone is not working, you cannot enter into the building. Think twice a and Plan well if you want to book this place.

Comfort night at Kalmar

a quite neighborhood, enough breakfast, 15 minutes walk from the station, and 10 minutes walk to the bus stop to Öland. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was about average for Sweden (cold cuts, bread, yogurt). Parking was really limited so we had to park on the street behind the hotel. Only thing within walking distance was a decent pizza place which was only a block away. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was a little hard to find initially. Some more/bigger signage would have been helpful.

Good value accommodation

We chose Kalmar more or less at random as a stopping place midway between Malmo and Stockholm and it turned out to be a gem of a historic town - well worth a visit. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the centre in a pleasant waterside location with free car parking. It offers self-catering options and, though our room had an en-suite shower, it seems that many don't. We had a large and comfortable room. Swedish hotel rooms are usually simply decorated and uncarpeted. This can make them feel rather Spartan to English tastes but, as here, the quality is usually good.
