Overall had a good 5 night stay. Pros: location, beach, accessibility, staff, free parking, room size. Con: inconsistent answers from staff, no housekeeping, only some rooms have beach chairs/umbrellas, pool, terrible bed, discrepancies between what Expedia says rooms have vs what they actually have- high chair, changing table, in room washer/dryer. Staff was kind but got different answers for a variety of things, like they give you cards for beach towels and would run out at the end of the day so some staff would give us as many towels as we wanted and didn’t care about the cards while others said they could “only” give me 3 towels since that’s how many cards I had. At check in I asked the man if beach chairs were included at the resort, he said no, so I bought some when in fact they are, just no umbrellas(even though it says online they are included with amenities fee). Pool was plain but you’re in Maui so why be in the pool. Proximity to whalers village is fantastic as is the walking distance to black rock beach. Kitchen size was great. Grounds are so pretty, lush & green. Parking is free, that’s what sold me to this resort. After my check-in review, the manager called me to try & make things better. sadly none of the offerings or subsequently follow up happened until 4th night (topper for bed) or room change (opted to not move due to it requiring us to re-pack everything for just 1 more night), so I asked for late check out, even 1hr, told no. Will try Westin next time.
