Rebirth of older Motel

Great Motel, modest priced older hotel that is being refurbished, service and friendly staff were excellent. Close to South Llano State Park. Excellent for Birders.

This was my first time to stay at the Sun Valley although I have been coming to Junction for years. Someone at S. Llano River State Park suggested this hotel, and I gave it a try. First, the owner who checked me in was super nice. The room was recently updated with a full walk-in shower with nice, modern tile. The room felt very clean and comfortable. This is definitely my new go-to hotel when in Junction. Very good value, you should give it a try.,

I have stayed at Sun Valley Motel multiple times and my experience has always been good. The rooms are basic but always clean and the properly is quiet and well maintained. This plus reasonable rates is why I return.

One star off because there were NO handrails in the bathroom, not even in the shower. It is a step down shower stall, no railings, no shelves, slippery and have to bend to the floor for your toiletries without a handrail to get in or out or move in the shower. This violates ADA rules for accessibility. One star off because the toilet was not working properly. It would loudly run and squeak every time it was flushed, and required turning the whole system off from the wall and then twisting back on for the toilet tank to fill and stop. Disappointing there was no way to use a fire stick on the TV for streaming. No way to change the input. Room was nice and clean. Staff was good. Seeing it was on Main Street in Junction we were worried it would be in the dangerous area. But it was far down enough that we felt safe.

This place is a hidden gem. Super clean and really inexpensive. You can tell they did some remodeling and its super nice for a small hotel. The rooms have either a walk in shower or a soaking tub. We requested the walk in shower and were very happy. There were a couple maintenance issues. The door to the closet and the entrance door were kind of sticking so you had to close kind of hard and i felt the shower could have been hotter. All in all its a great little place and we will be staying again for sure. Great for weekend getaways and enjoying the river and state park.
