An unexpected Gem. After many years of staying in different hotels around Jo'berg and Pretoria I had never stayed here. Thanks now changed and Fairlaws is now my hotel of choice. Really nice old school hotel with an amazing setting.

Unique and nice place. Would stay again. Great food. Friendly staff. Some things a little outdated although you could say that’s part of the vibe. Biggest complaint: room door has a light directly in front of it that does not turn off. And no blind to cover the window. Was extremely bright at night. Second night a staff member removed the bulbs which was appreciated

VERY DISAPPOINTED

We went to spend my wife's 60 th birthday . I informed the hotel telephonically prior to my arrival .At check in I reminded them and the lady who was checking us in said that it was on their system. However , the hotel totally forgot that it was my wife's birthday on Sunday , 8 December . Not even a happy birthday wish from the hotel,That spoiled a otherwise pleasant stay.
