You will immediately feel at home thanks to the very spacious living room, open kitchen and bar, followed by a large terrace. The open rear facade provides 1 living space where the living room, kitchen, porch with dining table and Caribbean garden with lovely swimming pool open up beautifully! The sultry evenings are a treat in this area with the tropical palms which are beautifully lit.

The stylish furniture is adapted to the atmosphere of the house. With cheerful music and a cocktail in hand, you can dream away on a lounger or cabana.

Villa Playa Jan Thiel

The Villa in Jan Thiel was everything we could have asked for. Beautiful and clean, comfortable and close to a happening beach. The check in and check out were handled in person and worked seamlessly. My only minor gripe as that toiletries other than a few rolls of toilet paper were not provided.

Our Villa zplaya Stay

The home was beautiful good location .but if you need s comfortable cool place to come back to sfter a full day in the sun and spend time with your family or have a meal where your not dripping with sweat then choose a fully Air conditioned . Property msnager was RUDE her assistant Vivian Great bedroom A/C WOrked great but the main concern was comfort so that you could spend time with fsmily. Perfect family getaway

The house was really welcoming and a perfect set up. Loved the open air kitchen to pool area. It was really nice to be within walking distance for groceries and Jan Thiel beach food/drink/entertainment options. We rented a car and very glad we did to be able to explore the island. Check in process was great, very welcoming. Highly recommend!

Villa Fun!

This place was great! We used for a family vacation with 3 adults and 3 teenagers. This Villa accomodated all of us with perfection. The property was very well kept and clean. Perfect location with plenty of entertainment within walking distance of super fun Jan Thiel Beach. I cant say enough good things about our experience. We cant wait to come back to this beautiful island and stay at Villa Playa again!

Relax in style and comfort

Villa Playa is heaven on earth! The thoughtful design, great accomodations, king sized beds with en suite bathrooms, the gorgeous pool with an open air dining and living space is perfection. The kitchen is gourmet and well equipped. The location is perfection with a food market and beach with restaurants in a short walk. We had no need to rent a car. This is our second visit and we will definitely be back again!

Looks good on paper but....

We rented this property because it looks very appealing in its description and pictures, however, our experience was a bit nightmarish. Pros: walking distance to beach/supermarket/restaurants/Casino; Water/soda/beer upon arrival. Cons: No basic toiletries.no extra bath towels/wash cloths/extra toilet papers/paper towels/ trash bags. You would think they would provide certain amount for the guests based on the number of nights booked. We stayed 8 nights and they only provided 1 tp per bathroom and 1 paper towel and 1 trash bag per trash can!! Furthermore, they said wash our own bath towels/clothes but no laundry detergent was provided. So, on top of already paying thousands of dollars for this place, we now had to go buy extra items that should have been there for us. The owners should really warn visitors that they will be attacked by mosquitos upon arrival and should plan to spend a lot of money buying citronella candles/bug sprays and repellents. There was no preparation for our arrival, they could have sprayed for mosquitos or provided nettings. We went to visit my husband’s family who live on the Island and even they thought that the property had ABNORMAL amount of mosquitos. In fact, we never saw mosquitos anywhere else on the island. - They don’t tell you in the description that you will be restricted on water and electricity usage. You get that information after you have already paid for the place. The climate of Curacao is already hot and humid, imagine having no A/C or fans to cool yourself off especially with a baby around. - We had some iguanas visit us during our stay and defecated in the swimming pool. We let the property manager know of our concerns since iguana droppings carry harmful bacteria that could get us all sick. Instead, I was told to fish out the droppings myself and use it like normal because they “only treat the pool once a week.” So, a warning to anyone who comes towards the end of the week, you may be swimming in a pool with someone else’s germs. After complaining to VRBO, the owner sent the manager over who managed to break the droppings in tiny pieces that remained at the bottom of the pool and never treated it with chemicals. We never used the pool during our stay. Overall, we would not recommend this place. Between the mosquitos, restrictions on electricity/water usage, no toiletries and no basic items to making guests life easier, you might as well stay in a hotel with the price charged. Not customer friendly.

Lovely Home and Area

This was our first trip to Curacao and we had such a great time! The open air concept of the kitchen/living/dining room area created a tropical ambience, complete with mood lighting and a nice breeze. The air conditioning units kept us cool in the bedroom and we slept well on the comfy beds. Check in and out was easy, and the beach and the grocery store were two blocks away. We traveled from the area, and enjoyed snorkeling and many beaches during our stay. We hope to return sooner rather than later!

We would LOVE to come back!

Over all this house had a fantastic outdoor living space. This allowed my family to spend a significant amount of time outdoors while eating and relaxing. The owner and property manager were both extremely welcoming and helpful. The air conditioning in the rooms allowed for great night sleeps after long days in the very hot sun. The pool was the perfect temperature and when we arrived it was spotlessly clean with an additional cleaning by the pool boy during our stay. The location of the house itself was perfect. Only a five minute walk to the grocery store, which had everything we needed for our week there. The Jan Thiel beach area was such a treat to have so close to the house and our family loved being able to rent the palapas for minimal cost. The restaurants there were also very good overall. We would love to come back another time in the future and rent the other properties to enjoy with our extended family.

The house was ideally located for lazy days around Jan Thiel—close to market, beaches, restaurants, evening entertainment; plus the pool and lounging areas. More adventurous days to Willemstad’s great culture and restaurants and the West End’s beaches. Very well appointed house, very smooth check in and check out process.

A private vacation retreat that exceeded our expectations!

When I reserved accommodation at Villa Playa, my only concern was that there were no reviews for this new rental property. My concerns quickly dissipated with the quick responses by the owners to my questions about the property. We chose Villa Playa for a family vacation to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Playa provided all the amenities of home for our stay during our mid-January 2019 trip. This tastefully decorated, new construction home is thoughtfully designed to capture the outdoors, with a beautiful pool and landscaping. The roll-up doors were one of our favourite features. You feel like you are at a private resort. It was the perfect retreat for our adult children and their significant others. Marieke, the property manager, greeted us after a delayed flight arrival & was very friendly and helpful to point out features like the alarm system, electric driveway gate, Bose Soundtouch speaker & other aspects to make our stay comfortable. Marieke checked in with us during our stay via "WhatsApp" to insure everything was ok, & provided links to various tours & attractions. Axel & Marion, the owners, provided a welcome package with a pack of cold local beer & snacks which we appreciated after a long travel day. The location of the property is conveniently located in an upscale, modern neighbourhood & within walking distance of a well stocked grocery store with a full compliment alcoholic beverages. I would recommend renting a car, which we did (do not rent from Europcar- very unreliable), so that you can enjoy all that Curacao has to offer. Taxi & public transportation appears to be a less reliable way to get around. Jan Thiel beach is also within about a 5 minute walk with Zest and Zanzibar beach bars where food is available. This beach is the launch point for the Bluefinn Charters catamaran day cruise/sail to the island of Klein. Other cruise operators are also a short drive away from Playa. We highly recommend Bluefinn Charters- excellent bbq lunch & helpful, friendly crew. We chose to prepare most of our meals in the well appointed kitchen including a Microwave/Oven combo, Fridge with ice maker (we also made ice- the ice maker had some trouble keeping up with our needs), Nespresso machine & dishwasher. The king-size beds were comfortable, although I would have liked extra pillows. My wife & I did not find it necessary to use our bedroom A/C unit, finding the cross airflow enough for a comfortable night sleep. Thank you Axel & Marion

Es stimmte alles. Die Villa ist noch recht neu und alles ist in einem sehr guten Zustand. Küchen-Utensilien sind in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden und alle Elektrogeräte funktionierten einwandfrei. Der Kontakt zu Marieke vor Ort war ebenfalls sehr gut. Es wurde innerhalb kürzester Zeit geantwortet. Der Pool war sauber und die Grünanlagen sind sehr gepflegt. Wir können die Villa bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Een geweldige villa met zwembad op een top lokatie. Binnen 3 minuten op het strand of de AH. Rustig gelegen en voldoende ruimte door de drie slaapkamers (met airco en badkamer). Villa is erg goed onderhouden en mooi ingericht.

Uitstekende keuze!

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in Villa Solo (14 dagen), met 4 volwassenen en 2 jonge kinderen. Overal aangedacht, heerlijk zwembad, dichtbij het strand Jan Thiel, supermarkt en sportschool. Een echte aanrader als je een huisje zoekt in Curacao!
