Tranquil little hotel with a beautiful poolside restaurant area that feels like you’re at the edge of the jungle. The staff is outstanding and treats you like family. Delicious breakfast is included, and you can purchase lunch or dinner from the restaurant when you want to. Just a 10 minute drive to Jaco beach and other lovely beaches. Just under 2 hour drive to Manuel Antonio national park, which makes for a good day trip. The hotel facilities seem like they could use some investment in updates, so it’s not the Ritz Carlton, but the rooms are spacious, and having a little kitchenette balcony was very nice. Lots of excursion options nearby that the staff can help you with. Also they have a little attached spa which gives amazing massages.

This place is a piece of paradise. We got personal service as if we were the only people there. The pool area is amazing, and the onsite restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast… omelettes made to order.

This hotel is Amazing. If you want a tranquil and peaceful place close to Jaco Beach, this is the place. Beautiful pools, nice rooms and good Breakfast. Geiner was very friendly and helpful. He even suggested visiting some waterfalls close by even though we didn’t have the time to do this.

I stayed here with a large group for a family reunion. We had 5 rooms in total (the suites by the pool) and they were all clean and met our expectations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We saw lots of creatures, just sitting poolside, with plenty of entertainment for the kiddos with the pool. Morning breakfasts were fantastic. There are some issues with creatures getting into the fridges, so put a chair in front of your fridge (even if you’re on the second floor) and this will curb the fridge thieves in the middle of the night. For a large group, it’s hard to find one spot that meets everyone’s needs, but this hotel was it! Its nice being a little more secluded from the beach zones, while still just being a short drive away (~ 15 minutes).

Set on a dry riverbed with beautiful, beautiful grounds. Our room, which overlooked the pool, was spacious and comfortable with an outdoor kitchen and a lovely shower. It’s five or ten minutes from the seedy town of Jaco. I’m so glad we stayed here and not in town. You can feel comfortable walking around and there’s one restaurant (Roberto’s) within walking distance.

What an absolutely amazing hotel. Hotel Pumilio was a dream Costa Rican stay for us, a destination we were excited about for a long time. Not only is it only a 6-7 min drive from all the action on Jaco Beach, but Ubers are extremely easy to order and never exceed $10 USD, and that’s at busy times! Being a few minutes driving from the busy strip at Jaco comes with the benefit of peace and quiet whenever you want it, with the option to party in Jaco whenever you want! The staff is really what makes it all worthwhile! The rooms are extremely impressive, but the attentive and caring nature of every staff member we encountered was heartwarming. Geiner at the front desk helped us with any and all needs, from needing more soap and getting it within seconds, to booking last minute excursions for a great price, and everything in between. He really made us feel at home throughout our 5 day stay, and we couldn’t be more grateful! The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and fresh everyday, usually involving eggs, pancakes/waffles, tamales, rice/beans, sausages, as well as fruits, cereals, and yogurt! The pool is clean, as is the rest of the property, and is fun to explore a little bit with the wildlife. Our room was GORGEOUS! Super high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows to the yard, which featured our amazing hot tub, which we used nightly.
