Spacious Victorian style cottage, designed for relaxation, with sweet front porch and large rear patio for outdoor living. Private, quiet location, yet steps away from dining, shopping and wine tasting in historic Amador City. Over 40 wineries are a short drive away.
No work crews due to our rental policies.
Halcyon House has been a five star vacation rental since 2016, and has a loyal group of repeat guests. Join us and see why!
The house features a main floor master with en-suite/powder bath, the second floor includes one king bedroom and one queen, with second bath. Both upstairs bedrooms have dormers with day beds, perfect for kiddos or a reading nook. Kitchen is fully furnished with plates, glasses, flatware, pots and pans, small appliances and coffee, tea, creamer and sweetener.

Charming front porch is one spot for outdoor relaxation. Large private back patio offers lounge area, dining table and grill. Propane tank and grill cleaner are included. Please let me know if you run out of either.

The house is absolutely beautiful—cozy, inviting, and perfect for unwinding or spending quality time with family. The kitchen is spacious, well‑equipped, and features a gas stove with plenty of cookware. That said, the nearby coffee shop offers delicious ready‑made meals and fresh‑baked bread, so cooking is completely optional.We also loved that there are two wine‑tasting spots within walking distance, and Sutter Creek is just a short drive away with plenty to explore. It rained during our stay, but we could easily imagine ourselves enjoying a glass of wine outdoors on a sunny day.The property itself is stunning, and I highly recommend it. There was a small hiccup when we arrived, but our host responded immediately and resolved everything right away. We’d love to come back again.

Halcyon House was one of the best places we've ever stayed through VRBO. Marilee has been responsive and helpful throughout the process.The location was perfect. It's an easy walk to the little city Amador, and a short drive to Sutter Creek. The house is clean, comfortable, and feels like a home without being fussy. We hope to be back in warmer weather so we can enjoy the back patio, but the front porch was lovely in afternoon sun.

Perfect house and location

We came to CA for my nephews wedding in Sutter Creek! This wonderful spacious yet cozy house was really great! Five adults had plenty of room. It is very clean and only about 3 minutes from Sutter Creek! We will stay here again if we come back to that area. Thank you for a lovely place to stay!!

Our stay at the Halcyon house in Amador city was perfect. We were celebrating my 2 granddaughters who just turned 21. The location was perfect..close to wineries, hiking, shopping and rode the rail cars. We would definitely come back and stay in the Halcyon House again!

Girls weekend

This is my second stay here. This was a girls weekend! There were five of us and the space was perfect. I will definitely be back over and over. This house has everything you need and even things you wouldn’t have thought you needed. The location is perfect for a girls weekend lots of games and laughs. Cocktails on the patio, a cute town steps away for food and shopping. Can’t say enough good things about this sweet little place. All of my questions are always answered quickly as well, which I really appreciate.

Sweet and charming

This is a beautiful house and property. The kitchen is appointed with everything you might possibly need. The beds are very comfortable and cozy. The house is sparkling clean and decorated well. We loved everything about it and would love to visit again.

Relaxing weekend in Amador County

We stayed at Halcyon House in Amador City. The house was very comfortable for 3 couples. Everything in the house is updated and tasteful. It has a nice outdoor area but was too chilly for us to be outside. It's a very short walk to downtown. Marilee is the most responsive host I've ever worked with on a vacation rental. I hope to return to this house again - it's a special find.

Property was very nice and had everything we needed for relaxing and cooking during our stay. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Many small added touches that made the stay as easy as being at home. Sorry the weather didn’t allow us to use the beautiful patio.

A 10 Star find!

This is wine country at its best. This home is not only very clean, it is classy and comfortable in every detail. We went to celebrate an anniversary and Marilee added some thoughtful, delightful extras to make our stay special. She was extremely helpful when we (uneducated in new technology) asked for some direction in using the thermostat. This place was the top of the line. We recommend it 100% and hope we can stay there again.

A true gem in the Gold Country

This was our second stay at the Halcyon House and when our stay is complete, we always feel a little sad. Both the property and host Marilee are warm and welcoming, and Halcyon feels like home. It is beautiful inside and out and has a well equipped kitchen. The location is quiet and a stones throw to downtown Amador City and a short drive to Sutter Creek and the wine region of Shenandoah Valley. We will definitely return!
