Just returned from a fantastic 3 nights at Casa Cayuco with our family of 5. Everything, from the welcome and transfers, to the smoothies/drinks, fresh made meals with local ingredients, to the excursions far exceeded our expectations. We are a mixed Panamanian-American family, and Casa Cayuco allowed us to introduce our children to the most beautiful parts of this country. I have been to Bocas Del Toro several times, but Casa Cayuco has the strongest relationship with its indigenous neighbors of any property I have previously stayed at. We definitely plan to return.

Jewel Eco Resort in Panama

From the minute José met us at the Bocas airport, every minute of this adventure and stay was absolute perfection. Casa Cayuco manager Alondra met us at the dock to welcome us and give us a tour. She’s a lovely young woman who goes above and beyond in all she does – like everyone who works at this magical eco resort. We stayed in the one treehouse on the property which was incredible. I slept like a rock every night, and the late evening rain storms were the best. We formed great friendships with the other guests who you share meals and daily adventures with. Speaking of meals, the food is so fresh, healthy and delicious that I’m plotting my return already. You’re offered daily excursions (I did all of them) that include everything from snorkeling at the mangroves and reef, jungle hikes, visiting monkey island – to my favorite – watching baby sea turtles leave their nest and make their way to the sea! So beautiful I nearly cried… I held an octopus, swam with nurse sharks and rays, saw some of the most vibrantly colored coral I’ve seen in years and soaked up every moment of beauty and joy. It’s also great to just hang out on the dock, in a hammock, snorkel around the dock or take a kayak or paddle board out on the crystal clear water. If you care about sustainability, love nature, want to meet like-minded travelers, enjoy off-the-beaten path adventures and desire to hang out in paradise with some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, this is the place for you.
