I had to discuss my concerns about the valet service and the difficulties in checking in at the front desk. I reserved and paid for two rooms, but the hotel’s record reflected reservations under two different names, mine and my other occupant’s name. I found out from the manager that this type of mixup happens often with reservations through third party booking sites. My issue was the attitude of the front desk - not friendly and not helpful. I had to drive through the valet parking area twice to see if anyone comes to help. When I gave up and started to walk inside to talk to the front desk, the valet staff showed up, and told me to leave the vehicle with a key, and take my own luggage by myself inside. After hearing my concerns, the manager offered to give me a free valet worth $50 per day and free breakfast buffet worth $80 total.
It wasn’t a cheap stay, and I’ll choose other hotels over this hotel in downtown Houston in the future. I’ll not waste my $2k for this type of services. It’s an over glorified business hotel.
