Guests stayed up until 4 AM smoking, drinking, and were loud on outside 2nd floor patio. Complaints to the desk were given but to no avail; the lone desk clerk couldn't stop them.

Magnuson is a good, mid-expense, downtown property. We used Magnuson as a base to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula. We were pleased.

We really enjoyed our stay in Hancock. Staff was nice. No weird smells. Swam everyday. Husband loved the hottub. Breakfast was fine. Easy walk to get to places or to hop on 41 and go on an adventure. Would definately stay again.

The staff was helpful with my belongings as there is not an elevator to my room on the second floor. Parking at the hotel is a major issue and I was fortunate enough that another person was leaving and moving his pickup truck to the Overflow parking across the street which allowed me to park in the garage. Otherwise I would had to park out in the overflow and I did not know how safe that would be.

The room was clean, but somewhat worn. It was comfortable, but little things were "off". I will stay here again, but hope for a different room. All progress around the halls requires stairs or ramps. Not for people with physical limitations, as there is not elevator. If you're not fussy about little things, this is a good place to stay.

Mostly Good, But Not All Good

Our room was very nice. It was a king room, and the bed was wonderful. It was one of the best beds we have ever had in a hotel. The room was also very spacious and comfortable. The parking was good and covered parking. That could help in Hancock in the winter. On the second floor they had a large, elevated patio space that would be good for an outdoor sitting area to relax. The not so good; there is no elevator. If you have mobility problems, you should know that and do everything you can to request a first-floor room. We did not explore the layout of the hotel, but it looked like there were some areas on the first floor that also required you to climb a few steps. The next issue was breakfast. To be fair, they make it very clear on their signage it is a "continental breakfast". Most name brand hotels also say this, but they have a decent spread. Here, it is almost all carbs, cereal, or yogurt. As an added bonus, it is a big hotel, and the breakfast area is tiny! We couldn't find a seat, so we were just going to take some food back to the room, but the room is so small you could barely move, then when we saw the food, we knew we were going to need to find a restaurant. We were there two nights and going out for breakfast added to the cost of the stay. I will also say, for what they charge a night, they could afford to have a decent breakfast. This was not a low-end hotel pricewise. We would stay again, for the room and the bed, but we'd be wiser.

Clean, dry room. All lights and air worked. Only downside it that you’re right on the street and lots of traffic goes by. If you aren’t used to sleeping with that type of noise, it could be a deterrent to staying here. There is also limited parking near the actual building.

Our recent stay at the Hotel Copper Crown in Hancock, MI was a very pleasant one. The rooms are large & roomy. It was quiet; better than most places we stayed. The bed was so comfortable & I love the pillows. Had a good night's sleep. I would recommend this place as an option.

Perhaps updated in The 70’s or 80’s . The noise kept my family up all night. I would expect this out of a $49 / night hotel but not a $250 place. Wont book on Hotels.com anymore - no abolity to change things
