Well-located for nature and culture
Good weather wasn't at the rendez-vous, but we still had a pleasant long weekend in Chabrehez. The house is old, but impeccably clean. We appreciated the nice touch of the aperitif waiting for us, and the host’s flexibility on departure time! We took full advantage of the ping-pong table and darts during the rainy evenings (wearing winter coats because the attic isn’t insulated). With places like Bastongne, Houffalize, Achouffe, Remouchamps and Lac de Nisramont in easy driving reach, the house is a good base for exploration. I only wish there was a boulangerie/épicierie within walking distance! My one request would be to remove “linens included” from the listing—because they actually require a payment on top of the rental fee. I was also surprised to learn that utilities (water, heat, electricity) also cost extra—this isn’t something we’ve encountered in any of our other house rentals.

Groot gezellig huis in prachtige omgeving.
Het huis leent zich voor een wat grotere nou nonsens groep. Het is lekker ruim, met een mooie speelzolder. Om het huis is veel ruimte, met als de zon schijnt, altijd wel een plek waar je ervan kunt genieten. Een prachtige omgeving, zeker voor als je van wandelen houdt, mooie route naar b.v. Achouffe of naar La Roche. Wij hebben het er erg naar ons zin gehad en willen Els bedanken voor de ontvangst.

Fijn verblijf in prachtige omgeving
We werden met een fijne en warme ontvangst opgewacht in de woning en daar troffen we een ruim en proper huis aan. Alle kamers waren schoon met goede bedden. Vooraf aan onze komst is er telefonisch contact geweest over de bedindeling. Op dat moment waren we even verrast dat er - in tegenstelling tot de advertentie- niet 5, maar 4 slaapkamers waren. Maar dit is in goed overleg perfect opgelost. Het huis is mooi en ruim, compleet met alles erop en eraan en de ligging is geweldig met voldoende te doen en ontdekken in de omgeving. Wel is de woning zwaar verouderd of slecht opgeknapt en de vloer in de eetkamer zelfs struikelgevaarlijk. De keuken is functioneel, maar de apparatuur ziet er gebrekkig uit. Dat is erg jammer en doet helaas wel afbreuk aan het zo mooie en statige huis. Maar dat heeft ons niet verhinderd een heerlijk verblijf te hebben!

Mooie locatie
Mooie omgeving, binnen een halfuurtje rijden genoeg te beleven prachtige wandelingen, kajakken ect. Het huis is gedateerd maar van alles voorzien. Alleen de wasmachine mist de startknop dus kon niet gebruikt worden. Grote woonkamer met meerdere banken en gezellige grote tafel in de eetkamer. Kasten met allerlei servies, bestek, spelletjes. Keukenkastjes waren al gevuld met kruiden, koffie, filterzakjes, thee, suiker..... Met Lidwine ging het contact via VRBO goed. Ook nadat het via de site niet duidelijke was geweest dat er nog extra aan schoonmaakkosten van de borg afging. En water/ electra wat op zo'n 10-15 euro per persoon uitkwam. Restant van de borg werd snel terug gestort. Wij hebben genoten van een weekje in Houffalize.

Genoten!
Een heerlijke ruime woning. Voor ons, 3 volwassenen en 3 kinderen en enkele dagen 1 extra persoon zeer ruim. We hebben genoten van de grote en brede eettafel en kamer naast de keuken, we konden onze knutsel spullen laten liggen aan de ene kant en hadden zat ruimte om de tafel te dekken aan de andere kant. Ook de zithoek(en) was meer dan ruim genoeg voor ons. Genoeg plekjes in en rond het huis om je terug te trekken als je dat wilt. De WiFi was helaas wat zwak, misschien een versterker meenemen. De omgeving krijgt ook 5 sterren. We hebben alle weggetjes op en af gefietst een flinke uitdaging voor de kuiten. Ook voor het wandelen en hardlopen kwamen we aan onze trekken. We hadden de hele week mooi weer en hebben dus weinig gebruik gemaakt van de spellen op zolder, wel van het badminton set. Heerlijk gelegen in de wei vol bloemen achter het huis. Leuke stadjes bezocht en natuurlijk de Chouffe winkel in Achouffe. We vonden allemaal dat we een top week hebben gehad.
