I would like to say that the heating in our room wasn’t working, so room very cold after asking twice for someone to check which they said they would but didn’t they eventually brought us an electric heater at 9pm Pm !!!! Sunday evening the menu was poor as they had run out of food even they came and said they had run out of spoons . Very disappointing for a hotel of the Georges reputation. We shall think twice before we book again or recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is very well appointed and in a great location for Hathersage and the surrounding areas for walks. The rooms were fabulous and very well equipped with coffee pod machine and lovely luxury toiletries. The breakfast was superb. We had the best stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.

My stay was absolutely amazing, the staff were fantastic, friendly welcoming whilst remaining very polite. The room and facilities were great, really really nice room, very clean and lots of little extras you don't realise you miss normally! The breakfast was delicious and service fantastic.

Harmony in Hathersage

Perfect in every way. Even the weather was great and Chatsworth is the best day out. Superb food, faultless service and spotless cleanliness. Only gripe was that the shampoo and body wash labels were worn away. If every hotel only had that problem we would live in a perfect World. 5+ Stars

Everything was great

Wonderful Stay

Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the front desk team was friendly and attentive. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water. The food was delicious!

The hotel had been very tastefully decorated throughout. Loved the Bronte themed room names! We also loved the fact that there was a radio, TV, tower fan, kettle, coffee maker and hair dryer in our room. The supplies of tea, coffee, milk and bottled water were replenished each day. As it was peak season we needed to book a table for our evening meal. There was a good choice of items on the menu and the food was delicious. We had breakfast included in our room price and again there was a good choice of items on the menu. Apart from on the day of our arrival, Sunday afternoon, it was really easy to find a space in the hotel's car park. The barrier rises automatically on entering, but you need to input a code (available from Reception) on exiting. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that the hotel was on a very busy main road. Sadly they can't really do more about that as the windows in our room had already been double glazed (in keeping with the lovely character of the property). Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel was certainly a good base for exploring the Hope Valley.

The George at Hathersage - a real gem.

One of the best, if not the best, of the many hotels that we have stayed in. The room was first rate, almost like a suite, the staff were welcoming and efficient and the breakfast was outstanding with locally resourced ingredients. We will certainly return in future.

Great family stay

We had an amazing stay at The George. The hotel is stunning and the staff are amazing. We had a very nice family room and the breakfast was incredible. We can't wait to visit again.
