Handcrafted barn conversion in the heat of the Peak District

Simply stunning!
10 years in the making, and worth the wait. Stanage Barn has been lovingly and carefully renovated, much of it by hand, with luxury, seclusion and relaxation at the heart of it. Stay at this stunning one bedroom barn conversion, and you can escape the trappings of day-to-day life and enjoy a peaceful break amidst wild ancient woods, magnificent countryside and with the most scenic walks from your doorstep. Not to mention the incredible views!

Hathersage Peak District
From your doorstep, the1-mile trail to Stanage Edge promises mesmerizing views and a taste of the adventures in store. Discover over 1,000 acres of parkland and soak up the history of the North Lees Estate. Chatsworth House and Estate is also only 11 miles away, or take in the dramatic Eastern Moors 4 miles away.

If you fancy an exciting day exploring the dams and reservoirs, venture the 10 miles to the Upper Derwent Valley – this is a brilliant place to try paddleboarding thanks to the panoramic vistas.

Although located in wonderful seclusion, Hathersage village is walkable across the fields in under 30 minutes. Hathersage village has shops, pubs, even a lido and all local amenities you’d wish for if you’re looking for a little more bustle.

The Peak District offers some of the finest walking trails in the UK and it’s also perfect for 4 legged friends, who we’re happy to welcome as a pet friendly stay.

Take a look around this stunning property through the pictures and videos but trust us when we say this place has to be seen to be believed, and we’re excited to host you at this unforgettable Peak District experience.

To maximize the intimacy, seclusion and tranquillity of the setting, the home has been architecturally designed to immerse guests in the natural surroundings, with carefully positioned openings and windows that frame the stunning vistas. The open plan living and double height areas create a bright and open space, unusual for such sympathetic barn conversions.

Set amongst the ancient trees with breathtaking panoramic views, and only the wildlife for neighbours, Stanage Barn marries deep luxury and comfort with a rare opportunity to retreat to nature and reconnect.

Step inside your unique barn and you’ll be met with stylish decor combining traditional barn characteristics with Scandinavian contemporary design. Calming neutral tones are paired with premium natural materials and environmentally sustainable products throughout.

The main living space comprises an open plan kitchen and dining room with a cosy lounge space to curl up with a book or enjoy the views from the floor to ceiling glass windows and doors.

Retreat to the upstairs bedroom area and sink into a sumptuous king-sized Hypnos bed suite beneath the stunning barn beams. Equipped with a full ensuite bathroom with bath, separate shower, double hand basins and WC, this is 5-star hotel style in the heart of The Peak District,

Outside you’ll find a private and secured courtyard with outdoor seating, a charcoal Barbeque grill so you can relax with a Gin & Tonic or cook up a delicious al fresco meal to eat while admiring the stunning views.

This is an authentic isolation retreat in the heart of the Peak District. About 500 yards from the nearest driveable road, guests are required to arrive at the bottom farmyard to be escorted up the hill to the barn by the hosts in an ‘off road buggy.’ All subsequent adventures out from and back to the barn during your stay are on-foot.

But do not worry, if you forget or ‘run out’ of your favourite beer or wine, we have a wine and drinks list of Stanage Barn specials. We also provide all the basic kitchen and bathroom essentials to save packing space. The hosts will also kindly receive your online grocery delivery ready for your arrival on your check-in day.
