Rented house primarily for hot tub and pool. Hot tub was never hot. We were only able to get intohot tub about 3 times and it was lukewarm then, and water kept draining out. There was a missing jet with cold water in it. We paid extra to for increases pool heat to VACASA, who actually rented house thru VRBO. Water drained 8-10 inches every day. A water hose was there to fill it up each day. Chemicals probably went out of hot tub. We filled it up every day even though we couldn’t get in it. The shower door in the main bathroom did not have a groove to slide the door and one could lose control of the door because it slide sideways and it was hard to remain steady when exiting the shower. There was also a problem with garbage disposal and dishwasher which we never used. The dishwasher overflowed with dirty water that apparently thru garbage disposal in sink. some floor tiles had been replaced and water was under tiles. The VACASA staff replied quickly to complaints and even said they were going to send someone from a Pool Company to look at the hot tub and pool. Maybe they came after we left, I hope so for the next Renter. There were also rusty nails near the pool from the roof and gutter. The oool and hot tub were supposed to be heated and ready upon our arrival since we gave them plenty of notice and paid extra before our arrival. A pool. The house was very clean and convenient but we were upset every single day during our stay about the hot tub and pool

The home was very clean and the pool area was very nice but the home was in desperate need of some general updates to make it comfortable. For instance the washer lid wouldn’t open and you had to hold it while you filled the washer. The dryer door was a struggle to open due to the closet door it’s housed in. The fridge was small and no ice maker. In one bedroom the light fixture looked as if it was going to fall and it was over the bed. The biggest concern was for safety! The second night we were there we were going to make hamburgers but the grill had a flas burst of fire and burnt all the hair off my husband’s arm and part of the eyebrow and hair off my dads face. Apparently the grease trap was clogged and then the grill caught fire. My husband is a firefighter and thank goodness because the extinguisher was COMPLETELY EMPTY! He used salt and was able to extinguish it. I feel this has probably happened before as the house has black on that area and the outside lights have been removed from that area. We contacted Vacasa immediately and got no return call at all. Not even to check on the condition of my dad and husband. Also the outside lights both front and partially in the back, did not work. The house is in great proximity to the beach but in all honesty, I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Loved 2 week stay at Holmes Beach on AMI in OCT. Easy beach access up the street and on other streets close by. Holmes Beach has calm surf - no issues with rip tides. Neighborhood is nice and quite. House was clean. All tile floors helped with dogs. Pool/jacuzzi made the house even better!

The house needs renovations. The bedrooms( the ones close to the kitchen)are super hot at night. The air conditioner is good outside but not inside the rooms. The pool area also needs renovation. Pool dirty. Needs landscaping .The same happened last time we were there but now is worse.

Would stay again!
In close proximity to beach. Very spacious with very nice pool and access to garage, which was nice. This is listed as a "pet friendly" home. We did NOT have a pet. However, there was dog hair on the floors. Otherwise, the house was clean as far as the linens, toilets, showers, kitchen counters, dishes, and to us that was the important part. The only reason I mention it was that I felt like the floors did not get cleaned, as we had to wear shoes/socks after showering, as the floors would turn our feet very dirty and there was alot of dog hair from last renter. The landscape, though it did not effect our stay was sad with lots of weeds growing up on the patio area and around the entire house. Regardless, I would stay here again, as it was very nice.

Beware the A/C does not work good!
This is the 2nd year we have stayed at this house. The location is perfect , but the air conditioner will not cool any of the bedrooms! This is 2 years it has been this way! The pool needs to be resurfaced! The home needs some work as well. We got there and the code they gave us was way to long for the key pad and we had frozen items and ice . It took 10 plus minutes to figure out how to get in ! We had 4 fans going in the master bedroom and you ould barely sleep in there . The same in all the other bedrooms! They need to spend some money on this home!

A budget experience at a premium price - unless you love devilled eggs
When small details are crap, they add up to a heap of crappiness that exceeds expectations of how crappy something can be!
Since ‘03 we’ve rented 15 properties nearby. We know what to expect and for these rates it’s fair to expect a decent standard. Island homes are often older, so no complaint that this house was tired and needing paint.
As another review said, there is nowhere comfortable to sit. The furniture seems as old as the house, despite the misleading photos.
The footstool worn through by countless feet, leather sofa worn to rough suede, patio furniture designed by a sadist and ancient giant tube TV lurking amongst VHS tapes all create a certain atmosphere.
The master bed is criminally uncomfortable, the room inexplicably hot. Run the AC enough and the rest of the house freezes. Not easy to fix, but a check in the crappy column.
The bedrooms are dark. The storm shutters are closed and broken, enhancing the bunker vibe, and half the lamps are missing bulbs.
If more than 3 of you visit, you’ll be sharing small, old towels.
The kitchen is bizarre. 2 Bundt cake tins for all your beach baking. Pans with heavily-damaged surfaces. A melted cutting board and knives so blunt, they probably qualify as child-safe. A total of three tiny, clouded wine glasses, and a psychedelic devilled egg plate, presumably for entertaining sightseers fascinated by the vast collection of ancient Tupperware.
The garage provided broken chairs and umbrellas, more Tupperware…and another devilled egg plate, just in case.
If complaining about wine glasses sounds entitled, none of the other properties we’ve rented have come so comically equipped.
We like a warm pool, so paid $350 for heating, presuming TECO must generate electricity by burning diamonds. We were unexpectedly refunded: “The pool’s warm enough”. Eh? Well, the first few days were fine. A cold front and heavy rain crashed the temp to way below ideal, so we asked for the heat to be turned on, at the diamond rate. “We don’t turn it on after April”. Customer service is for losers! Later it occurred to us that the pool heater probably didn’t work. Aha!
As for basics, does it really save THAT much money to provide only the cheapest, transparent, single-ply toilet and kitchen paper?
A premium price paid for a bargain-basement, budget experience.
It would take little time, modest expense and little effort to flip that around.
You just have to give a damn.

Won't use Vacasa again.
Very disappointing. Property managers were not responsive to our problems. Tried calling the day we checked in regarding entry code not working and ants in the kitchen. I had to call back on 3 days later getting no response. Said they would call Spectrum and drop off ant traps. Someone finally came to fiddle with the internet connection and place traps. Finally, a week after checking in, a new living room TV came(that one wasn't working for the week) and it was discovered that the internet was not working. Unfortunately, the entry keypad was connected to internet and that was why it didn't work all week. Our whole list of problems and concerns were finally addressed after a full week. The pictures of the house and backyard were totally deceiving. There was not a comfortable place to sit inside or out. Furniture was old and very worn. Mattresses were not at all comfortable. The ice maker didn't work, they did leave ice cube trays. The dishwasher was old and wouldn't start very easily. There was also broken glass in it. Light fixture in master bathroom was so old and worn out that the maintenance guy couldn't even get it to work properly. The twin bedroom still had the hurricane doors over the windows so in an emergency, anyone staying in there wouldn't be able to get out. The whole house needed a good deep cleaning. We have re read some of the old reviews on the place and it seems that nothing has really changed, despite comments from the Vacasa to improve. Overall, this house was in a great location and the pool and hot tub were wonderful but the house and property need a lot of care and maintenance.

Nice distance to the beach
We had an okay experience. Communication with Vacasa could be better. The only time they responded in a timely fashion via email was when there was an issue with our shower. Unfortunately, the master shower was clogged and couldn’t be fixed until the day before we left; we were discounted some of the cost of our stay for this at least. Calling the company means you’re calling a call center, so they don’t really know anything about your specific property.
I was also bummed to learn that they don’t offer a place to drop bags in case you arrive to the island earlier than check-in.
The pool/hot tub area is nice, but we had difficulties with it consistently running well. It was a bit of a puzzle to get the hot tub to heat sometimes as there were no instructions posted.
I did appreciate having TVs in the bedrooms. Do note that one of the beds is a Murphy style bed with not the most comfortable mattress, but the bedroom is private. The walk to the beach is great. We rented a golf cart and we’re able to park it in the garage.
Check-in was simple. We were offered a late checkout for a fee, but only until 2pm. The Vacasa app says that late checkouts allow you to stay to 7pm. I asked via email about this and never got a reply.
The house had a gas grill, but it was janky. We were happy to see that they also had a charcoal grill, which we ended up using instead with charcoal we purchased. I emailed about the grill, so hopefully they will service it.
All in all, we likely won’t stay with Vacasa again. There are so many rental companies on the island and a smaller company or independent owner may offer better service.

MARCH 2022 STAY
Property location was great. Property could use a good deep cleaning. Several things need repaired, such as outdoor furniture. Ice maker did not work. Kitchen knives were bad - could not cut so we bought a new one. Every time I contacted Vacasa they responded right away and sent someone to the house. One employee even contacted me at 6:30 pm - after her workday to let me know what was happening. I really appreciated her!

Best vacation ever!
We loved this home. It was clean and open. And we especially loved the backyard and pool/hot tub area. We love having the grill and enjoyed dinner “at home” most of the time. The furniture was very comfortable, however the mattresses needed to be replaced. But with that said, we loved our vacation and so did our family and our doggies! Thanks!

Allot of space, clean, and comfortable
I absolutely enjoyed my stay along with the rest of my family. The house was super comfortable, and clean. I would definitely stay here again. I went during red tide and if it wasn’t for the pool and hot tub I think I would have been disappointed. My only suggestion would be to clean up a little on the landscaping around the front of the house. Aside from that everything was perfect.
