Breakfast buffet is the Best!!!!! Grandma’s unique pancakes were delicious! Hotel is full of history of the family. I enjoyed the family tree in dining room. All the precious family heirlooms thru out the hotel were fun to look at. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

This quaint guesthouse was delightful. Our room had views of the hills and waterfalls. The restaurant on site was tasty and servers and staff friendly. The hotel is filled with antiques, which makes walking around more interesting. They also have several coffee machines and these drinks are free. Complimentary reakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, hot and cold breakfast meats, homemade jams and cakes, beans in tomato sauce, and fresh homemade bread. There is an interesting whale skeleton in front of the restaurant outside. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This hotel was a little pricier than most of the places my husband and I stayed at on our two-week trip, but it was probably our favorite place. The hotel has a fun style, and our dinner and breakfast were really yummy. The staff was super friendly, and our room was nice and big with a great bed and shower.

Camila at Front desk was very helpful. Only problem is at the front door slams every time somebody lets it go. And with no ventilation running, you hear it every time it slams.

The decor was unique n unusual which was interesting. It seemed like it needed some updating. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food (dinner and breakfast) was great. There was one entrance then had to go down a long hallway to our room, which seemed a little strange. Not sure it was worth the long drive to get there and not much around it.

Lovely hotel adjacent to a farm with farm animals nearby. The property is older but well kept. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall, everything was good. The local breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable. The only downside was the internet access — it was only available in the common area, not in the rooms. If that’s improved, it would be perfect.

We were in Iceland for ten days and, by far, this was our favorite place to stay. The staff are the most wonderful people - everyone was so friendly and helpful. We loved our spacious, clean room. The meal we had at the restaurant was our favorite meal of the ten days. DO NOT drive to a restaurant; do yourself a favor and eat at Hotel Smyrlabjorg. When we return to Iceland, we will be looking to stay here again. Don't pass up an opportunity to experience this place.
