Conveniently located near popular area attractions and outdoor activities, Fern Creek Cabins offer year round, affordable, pet friendly vacation lodging in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia. Our two cabins sit on 38 private acres of pristine hemlock forrest near the north rim of the New River Gorge National River in Lookout, WV. You can check out our one-room cabin listing at #395725.

Both cabins feature hot tub, outdoor fire-pit with chairs and firewood, gas grill, fully equipped kitchens. All sheets and towels are provided. Fishing in small pond on property great for kids to catch small bass.

For those who just want to relax, Fern Creek Cabins offers plenty of space to roam about the property. Our cabins have comfortable porches equipped with grills and hot tubs, outdoor fire pits, and lots of beautiful yard space for throwing horseshoes or playing softball.

We welcome well behaved pets charging $40 pet fee for cleaning .

We ask our guests to not smoke in our cabins.

While our 2 cabin's share the peaceful seclusion of the Appalachians, it is but a few short miles over New River Gorge Bridge to downtown Fayetteville, named 'Coolest Small Town in America.' Come visit and take a walk around. You’ll find a vibrant shopping district and fantastic restaurants, windows to browse with lots to buy, and a lovely town park.

'Endless Wall Trail' lies a mile around the corner which tours one of the wonders of the New River Gorge -- the unbroken cliffline known as the Endless Wall, which follows the rim of the gorge and offers access to dozens of bolted climbing routes. Breathtaking panoramas await hikers as the trail leads along the top of the cliffs through gnarled pines, mossy boulders, and rhododendron thickets.

Great communication with the host and super friendly. We really enjoyed the location. It was private with plenty of space for the pups to run around. For us it was perfect. It was a short trip and wish we could’ve stayed longer to explore more, enjoy the fire pit, etc. We will look to go back when we can stay longer.

We had a great stay at the 2-bedroom cabin at Fern Creek. Very convenient to hiking and shopping adventures in the New River Gorge area. The cabin is extremely clean and well-stocked with all the necessities and more. The hot tub was fully enjoyed at the end of each day. The beautiful open spaces outside and well-kept property were enjoyed while walking our dog. The host was very responsive to any questions and available to help if needed. Highly recommend this cabin for a week away in West Virginia!

The property was stunning and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. The heat in the cabin works extremely well, we actually had to turn it down a little since we underestimated how well the baseboard heaters would work. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked as was the DVD collection (we went for a rewatch of National Treasure). Communication with the hosts is superb, they respond quickly and the checkout and check in instructions were super straightforward. The location was really convenient for going to Bridge Day and was secluded enough to be dark and quiet at night after a busy day. The wind chimes were a group favorite the entire stay as we would have the interior doors open to hear them in the evenings.

Really nice cabin located pretty close to the NRG bridge as well as one of the most popular trails in the area, Endless Wall. We loved our long weekend here, being able to bring our dog, and having a hot tub to relax after days of hiking the trails. Also not too far of drive to get into town for food.

This was a great cabin! It had all the comforts of home (nicely stocked kitchen, plenty of blankets/towels, etc) and the property was great! We enjoy staying places off the beaten path - we loved the porches, the hot tub, the firepit, and all of the outdoor spaces. It was very close to New River Gorge NP and to a few little towns. If we are ever back in WV we would definitely stay again!

This was the perfect spot for our family while we visited New River Gorge National Park. The place was incredibly clean and stocked with everything we needed and more. With 2 adults, 4 kids, and a big dog, we had plenty of space and didn't feel crowded. The surrounding land was remote and peaceful with a little pond where the kids found baby frogs, and an epic tree swing. The hot tub and fire pit were so nice to use in the evenings. The host was super responsive and kind. We felt right at home, and will definitely stay again when we are back in the area if they aren't already booked!

We loved this little, secluded cabin! It was perfect for what we wanted. Our dogs were able to roam the yard freely in the open yard without worry. We loved the yard for playing games, lots of fishing took place, and ended the day in the hot tub! If you want a nice private cabin the whole family will enjoy then this is the one!!

This cabin had it all: privacy, quiet, wildlife to watch while sitting on the porch, awesome wildflowers in the fields near the cabin. We stayed in June and saw fireflies like never before. We did the bridge walk and white water rafting, and those were a conveniently short and direct drive from the cabin.Even though it was really hot, the ACs in the cabin kept us comfortable.The check-in and check-out processes were well explained and easy.We would definitely stay again.

We (my wife and I with 2 dogs) stayed here for 3 nights. If you are looking for a nice clean, comfortable place to spend some time in the area don’t pass this place up! It’s pet friendly but you would never know, from the moment we opened the door we knew we were in a VERY CLEAN cabin, there was zero pet odor and not one hair to be found. Even if you are looking to stay in the area and you don’t have pets I would still highly recommend this place. It’s far enough away that you have none of the hustle and bustle but close enough to be convenient to all the attractions in the area. We will definitely return!

Excellent cabin near several prime locations!

The cabin is lovely and well stocked. They’ve thought of everything. It was a cozy option near several tourist attractions and drivable (1 hour) to even more. It is a quiet location with two cabins. Nice hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor porch areas too. We enjoyed the on property trail and nearby hikes like the Endless Wall and Gorge. Our cell hotspot worked nicely and we enjoyed the large movie collection too. We highly recommend this spot, if you’re looking for a getaway that is within a quick drive of the Gorge and you want to avoid the crowds. We liked the seclusion and peace.

I had seen previous reviews and this property had a 10 so I had to see for myself. It does live up to the rating plus more. So clean and had everything you could image. Very quite and private. We took our family pet and she had so much fun also. It is close to activities in the area, including nice hiking trails. Communication and from owner were outstanding. We will be back to take advantage of the other fun things to do.

Absolutely perfect slice of "Almost Heaven"

We arrived to a perfectly clean and prepared cabin. I can not think of one thing the cabin did not have that we needed. Some may say WiFi but you come here to leave that behind. This home sits o ame place twice because life is too short and so many options to try.  This is the first place I would definitely stay in again if and when I'm back in the area.  We had a great time and stayed 2 extra days last minute.   The property owners were so great and made us feel welcome.  I highly recommend if you are looking for a great get away spot this is one you should give a try.  Just perfect.   n top of a hill away from everyone and everything but so very close to everything you could possibly want to do or see.  The New River Gorge was great to visit and to hike some of the most beautiful mountains.  The New River Gorge Bridge Walk was absolutely worth it.  Great views and great staff!  Lots of waterfalls and sights to see.  I always say that I would never stay at the same place twice because life is too short and so many options to try.  This is the first place I would definitely stay in again if and when I'm back in the area.  We had a great time and stayed 2 extra days last minute.   The property owners were so great and made us feel welcome.  I highly recommend if you are looking for a great get away spot this is one you should give a try.  Just perfect.
