We loved to stay at this hotel despite other bad reviews. Only big problem the heat. The hotel is not ready when it comes to hot days. There where conditioners but didn't really worked and the rooms where very hot at night and during the day. But breakfast was excellent and so the rest of our stay

Nice location, quiet and scenic. 10mins drive to Hayling beach (pebble) or 40mins to west wittering (sandy). Breakfast was great with quite a few options. We stayed during the heatwave and rooms are not designed for hot weather. Fans were provided. My only negative about the room is the shower curtain!!! It’s so annoying keeps sticking to your body when you shower. Please replace it!

We stayed in room 40. The room is dinged due to limited natural light because of a large bush outside of the window. Room smells mouldy, opened window didn't make any difference.

Hotel really clean & staff very pleasant. Our stay was spoilt by the fact the strip light over the dressing table in our room did not work. This meant half of the room was dimly lit. We reported it to reception on day 1 of our stay. However the problem was not fixed for the entire 3 night duration of our stay. You expect all facilities to be working in your room & it should be checked by staff before you check in.

The staff have been amazing with us but the our room let it down. We were travelling with a small baby and 1 bed wasn't made up. We had to get duvets ourselves, so 2 adults slept in the duvet with no sheet or duvet cover. This caused distribution to my 9 month old who just wanted to sleep. The mini bar had a half eaten chocolate bar and used water, this lead us to think this room wasn't up to standards. Other than that it was generally ok but the staff made it better. Very friendly and helpful.

The shared amenities of the property were modern and well looked after. But the rooms were dated, as soon as you walk down the corridor to the rooms you can tell it hasn’t been modernised. My room has a long light fitting that had clearly broken, they had done a temporary replacement using a round bathroom light, which has exposed wiring. The room felt grubby and poorly maintained.

Room clean but "tired". Breakfast fine. I reported a non functioning ceiling light on day one which still not fixed after 4 days - not really good enough. I should not have to read and work sitting on the bed because the light is broken. Stay was OK but not much more than that.

Amazing Location - No Dogs Policy

Please note they do not take dogs at this hotel. In our search for dog friendly hotels this property came up as dog friendly. The manager was fantastic and understanding but we did leave in the end. Hotel looked great so hopefully we will be back one day without our pet.

Not worth the visit

For the price we paid this hotel is firstly not value for money and don’t even get me started with the disgusting shower curtain. Most of the staff don’t care and it really shows. Staff would happily walk past tables needing cleaning down and emptying. We had run out of toilet roll on the first day as they hadn’t given us enough. I asked for toilet roll at the desk as the room phone was broken! I waited an hour for toilet roll and still no toilet roll! In the end if went into my mums room to use her toilet. When I went downstairs I had to tell the receptionist again I had no toilet roll. I shouldn’t have to ask twice. The restaurant is ridiculously priced for the service and food we got. The service was added to the bill automatically however people should be given the choice if they think the service was good!! By the way the service was shocking. Took over half an hour just to get our drinks. Poorly run and won’t be returning or recommending.

What’s happened, used to be such a lovely hotel

The setting is beautiful and lovely views from the restaurant however was really disappointed at how much the rooms had deteriorated since my last visit. It’s had a lick of paint but that’s about it, we had adjoining rooms on the ground floor the bathrooms were dated dirty, taps and bath looked like they needed a good clean, wiring for the fans looked dangerous especially if staying with small children. Breakfast was ok, service in the restaurant in the evening was poor with drinks not arriving until way after the starters and main course despite chasing, only to find order was wrong and had to go back, went to the bar ourselves for the next drink as no one came to the table to check on us. Sorry but I won’t be going back in a hurry, such a shame and especially for the money we paid, we were expecting more and left disappointed 😞
