Offered Atlantic Salmon tour minutes away from property. Getting old looking bathrooms, two beds only accessible to two person from one side. Weekends had limited breakfast. No restaurant on weekend morning in town with few services. Miss info provided for meal place opening time.

Good motel, terrible restaurant!!

The check-in at the motel was very good. The lady who checked us in was pleasant and friendly. However, it went downhill from there. The first room we got, the bathroom was not clean. I would like to say, though, that they quickly resolve the situation with another equivalent room. The room itself was nice, and comfortable. They even gave us a queen suite, that included a small kitchen. The poor rating and service rating is not for the motel itself, it is for the restaurant attached to it. The food was not very good. The clam chowder tasted like it came out of a can, with very little pieces of seafood. And they charged $17 for it. Also, we ordered a pitcher of beer. The sign on the wall directly behind us, which was right beside the bar had a sign that it should be $16.50. We got charged $22.95. When we disputed this, one of the ladies who was cleaning up said “well, you had to order directly at the bar”. We were sitting, 3 feet away from said bar! We were the only ones in the dining room at that time. The waitress mentioned nohing about that to us, when we ordered. We even mentioned that the pitcher of beer was on sale, and that it was more economical than ordering single glasses. The waitress just nodded. When we brought it to their attention afterwards, they were very dismissive. This was the worst service that we had to date in Newfoundland, and the worst food that we have eaten. I would recommend the motel for staying, but eat somewhere else for sure!

The dinner meal served was second poorest in 16 days of travel. Checkout proved to be impossible as one had to be able to access the Main Floor from the levels which included the rooms. Why was it impossible? Because not only was the Front door to the exterior locked, the Fire Exit stairs from that portion of the second floor was also locked; this means that in the event of a Fire, overnight Residents would have no escape route, a clear Fire Code violation anywhere in Canada. I left our keys on our room. Don't stay here.

Not nice! Old mattress, toilet wouldn’t flush, no towel rack, locked out of lobby. Complex air exchange sounded like a truck in our room, noisy fridge, unplugged it. No staff around to check out at 0900.

Nice comfortable hotel, bad check in experience

I called the day before to let them know I would be getting in late. The check in lady called me all annoyed that evening needing to know the exact time of arrival. Then when I got there, she was not very friendly at all and while I was bringing my belongings in, I got locked out and no one was answering my calls or the door bell which, I was told, would be answered. As I prearranged this late check in I was very upset about my treatment. Also, I did pay for that night. The next morning, the person at the front desk was much more helpful and friendly. The staff helped me with some trouble I was having which was very nice. The place was nice and comfortable.

Great potential but bed was hard, sink was stained, parking lot was filled with potholes. Nice decorating. Pizza in house was convenient but crust was soggy, too much sauce, skimpy toppings andpoorly advertised. (Sign outside said closed at 7, inside said 9, no menu, just a flyer.) Breakfast buffet not included and no price shared beforehand.
