The property itself has very good. Good location for walking to very good restaurants, the marine terminal, downtown and other attractions. Unfortunately they are building two large hotels or condos across the street, with construction almost around the clock - and sure to block the view. Our room was in the very front of the hotel, so we also heard lots of coming and going around the property, including property workers. Would likely stay again, but after the construction work is done.

Nice stay at The Great House

Attractive, historic building. Lovely room with a nice verandah to sit outside. Good central location. Breakfast ok but a little over priced. Friendly, helpful staff.

The Great House is in a great location. It is an easy walk to restaurants and bars, as well as the water taxi terminal. There is a bit of construction right now, which is a bit noisy, but that won’t last forever. The staff was very helpful with answering questions and arranging taxis. We enjoyed the peaceful pool area, as well. This is a great place to stay in Belize City! We have stayed here 4 times now and highly recommend it.

The,communication pre arrival was very good. One of the rooms larger more updated but both comfortable. Balacony seating nice to have. Lovely view of water. Toombad so many higher places being built but should be good view for next year or so. Appreciated the allowance of late check out to accommodate our excursion schedule.

The area is very run down, empty and scary dark streets trying to find a restaurant. We did find a bar next to hotel that was empty but good service

The hotel itself was lovely. We found that the restaurant listed in the booking was actually only for breakfast and was closed the day we came. There is major construction going on nearby. The staff however made the stay worth it. They were able to hired a taxi for us and made recommendation where to eat. Please be aware that there are at least 2 flights of stairs that you will need to climb.

We stayed here one night prior to leaving for the airport the next morning. Its a good and safe option for this, and its very close to the ferry terminal. Despite stories of Belize City being dangerous, the area around The Great House Inn is safe, even at night. There are a couple restaurant options very close by. Rooms are large, and have an old British feel to them, though not very modern. I would stay here again if it was for a night.
