Decent stay

We stayed at Solano Inn to visit Wesleyan University. Good stay for the price. The bathroom had a strong smell of cigarette smoking, however. Also it would have helped to have tea bags int he room given we had an electric kettle etc in the room. Staff was kind and helpful.

For $97/night it was excellent. Clean, kitchenette area, hot water was plentiful, basic amenities. Nothing extra. Hair dryer available on request. No extra towels or blankets. Heating/cooling was a wall unit and worked well but loud when it would switch on. Front desk not always attended, so may wait for check in and out.

Although it is not the fanciest place, it was in good repair and clean and tasteful. Very receptive staff that seemed eager to make sure customers are happy. That was much appreciated. Minor problem when i wanted the room to be a bit warmer as the thermostat was not working, but not to blame the staff at all because i did not ask them to address it. It was still a reasonable temp. Good people trying to run a nice place.
