Great location to your old quarter of Hanoi. Hotel staffs are friendly. Thanks to Thomas, front desk manager for the warm welcome and given us a brief on hotel facilities. Room is slightly small and sound proofing need improvement. Other than that, breakfast was great and ideal location if plan to spend time around old quarter of Hanoi.

I had a lovely short 1-night stay at the Grand Hotel du Lac in Hanoi. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was excellent throughout — from check-in to check-out. The room was very clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. The hotel’s location is also a big plus — conveniently situated and easy to access key spots in the city. Highly recommended for a relaxing and hassle-free stay in Hanoi!

Great place to stay

The check-in, breakfast, location, staff, all were great. The general manager and his assistant were always around and helping us about Hanoi. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast with western and Vietnamese choices was great. Rooftop bar for a drink or two had wonderful view. Location was central. Walking distance to lake Kiem. Loads of places to have dinner and Hanoi beer. It was a great hotel to stay in Hanoi and feel at home. It was the staff who made it so wonderful.

I was really unhappy with this hotel and had left a review stating as such originally because a staff member grabbed me when I refused to fill out their comment card as I was rushing to the airport in addition to a poorly maintained internal room. The hotel offered me a small refund (equivalent to 10 percent) in response which I appreciate. But honestly I regret taking the refund because the manager was very aggressive and constantly messaged me to take down my review, I had to block their number. I would continue to discourage anyone from staying here.

I must say, I travel quite a bit and the Grand Hotel du Lac in Hanoi was spectacular. Gorgeous lobby, rooms and eating area. Yet what is even more amazing about this Hotel is the staff. Everyone speaks perfect English and is extremely courteous and helpful. Lily and Jack were especially instrumental in helping me navigate around the city. They added me to a WhatsApp chat and were extremely accommodating, responsive and easy to get a hold of, calling me cabs several times. They negotiated with the can driver on my behalf and when I didnt have time to go back to the hotel day of my return they arranged to have my luggage sent to the airport and coordinated so it showed up exactly when I arrived. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Hanoi, look no further. Love this place and all the staff!

Had an incredible 5 night stay at the Grand Du Lac. The rooms were very nice and comfortable (particularly the big bed) and the amenities were all clean and well maintained. A special Thankyou to all the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable - organising car transfers, tours to Ha Long Bay and all the yummy food recommendations. Overall the best feature was the location. Grand Du Lac is situated on a quieter side street, which had limited traffic and road noise, perfect for those sleep ins. Yet it was only a 1 minute walk to the church and start of the busyness/shopping areas. Would highly recommend! 10/10
