No warning that there was a fee for parking. The room was ok however the tv didnt work well the connectuon for the sky receiver was broken and kept falling out. There was tobacco in the bed so not sure if sheets changed from the previous people staying. The bathroom was disgusting, there was blood splatters in several places on the floor and poo splatter in the toilet abd under the seat, hairs abd a film in the bath abd the hot water was luke warm. If the bathroom had been clean the room would have been great

Staying in a historical hotel was a treat in itself. The ceilings were high, and the decor in keeping with the period. It was a real treat to know we were staying one floor above where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip stayed in 1953. Aside from all that, the room including the bathroom was clean, and well presented. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Could not sleep due to the noise from the clubs that surrounded us. The street noise of people screaming and singing and fighting was not pleasant. Difficult to sleep. Couldnt shut the window. The shower was black with dirt and mould in places. The surrounding the toilet area was not clean. The bed had no wheels and so low at 30cm high, so difficult to get in and out of. The photos are misleading on the website because the place is quite run down and musty. The odour started in the lift before we even got to the room. Disappointed so did not stay subsequent nights.

Thursday night was peaceful, Friday night could not sleep due to disco music alright from next door, asked to be moved from the street side and accepted a down grade. Still couldn’t sleep because of loud drunk guests in the courtyard below. I complained several times. I believe the police were eventually called in after midnight.

Unless you’re a heavy sleeper, I’d recommend you look elsewhere. We had basically no sleep the first night due to an unruly mob in the corridor outside our room, and the only staff person in the entire building was the young trainee on the front desk, so they were left to run riot. The building is obviously a conversion, but seems done poorly. The room was large but resembled some sort of poorly decorated commercial office room. The elevator seems to be on its last legs and the bar/nightclub nearby meant the next night was only slightly more bearable, which we would have gladly spent elsewhere of anything was available.

It’s very old, and smells very old in the hotel. It needs a full refurbish, the shower is very short as well, you can’t wash your hair without sitting down. The beds feel old as well. Also when we showed up to check in the receptionist was on his phone texting, that’s not a good look.
