Lilienhof "NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE"

Hotels.com needs to have a review before advertising hotel Lilienhop. It is not fit for purpose and is not worth staying. I will never stay there and will not recommend it to any one. I booked from 15th to the 19th but did not finish the days there as the behavior of the hotel owners and staff were out of order. I had to book another hotel from bookings.com which was one of the best. no toilet tissue, you have to share toilet with other guests and worst of it you have to pay five euros per day to use the wifi. It was appalling and will not recommend this hotel to any traveler to Hamburg.

Hotel Lilienhof is very centrally located with easy access to the center of Hamburg as well good rail connections to the airport. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. However, the property itself was not clean nor well maintained. The wardrobes/cupboards were extremely dirty. There was ongoing building work right outside my door every day during my stay and the toilet facilities on my floor were not working. Furthermore, the staff did not respond to my questions prior to arrival.

Awful. Horrible. Room – The room was smelly, bare floors and no ventilation. The bed was supposed to be double-bed but it was 2 single beds joined with a mattress protector. The mattress, duvet and the pillow were full of bed-bugs. I was sucked/eaten like hot-cakes by the bugs Service – this was non-existent. The bedding was untouched when I returned in the evening. In short, the worst experience of staying in a hotel ever. NEED MY MONEY BACK....

Convenient to train station

We were looking for a hotel close to the Hamburg train station. This hotel fit that bill. We had a late arrival and they graciously accommodated that. The room is small, but clean. The bathroom (toilet) was shared, and also clean. The location was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast buffet looked good, but we had opted to eat elsewhere, because we had an early train departure. Many restaurants, theatre, etc. is all walkable.

Room was clean. Shared shower room, had to get key each time from front desk :( The owners were nowhere near as friendly as the younger, employed staff and the helpful woman. A lot of ruckus one night with guests returning to hotel, no intervention from staff, woke up the entire floor.

Good central hotel

The hotel was nothing special, but it was good for the money. Room was clean with 24 hour front desk. Disappointingly expedia mentioned balcony and none of the rooms have balconies. Had to pay for wifi, but you get what you pay for and if I wasn't a smoker I would definitely stay there again. I recommend it on a budget.

Our Hamburg Stay

The hotel was a good place to stay for our one night in Hamburg. Having to pay for a shower was a drawback for the hotel. Being able to make a coffee in the room,would have been nice.

Mediocre, So-So, Unexceptional

An inexpensive hotel close to the main train station, fairly quiet, clean, and a fairly safe area were the positives. The rooms are small, there are only two small bathrooms per floor, but only one shower per floor, and one has to go to the lobby to get the key (possible extra charge!). Also no breakfast except at a considerable charge, a charge for WiFi, and an extra city tax added at arrival. Except if money is critical, one can do better in the same general area...there are many hotels near the train station.

Loved Breakfast!!!

The staff were very welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast the next day. The dining room was very cute and welcoming. The bedroom was very tiny and beds were not very comfortable but that was to be expected for the awesome price we paid. The shower was awesome in the room. The toilet in the hall did not smell too good. It was in great proximity to the trainstation and great internet access. Would definitely stay there again for one night.
