It disheartens me to write this because the other Barcelo hotels in Valencia and Lanzarote have been much much better and have always gone above and beyond with their service, whenever we have stayed with them. Unfortunately, our stay in the Hamburg hotel was very different, to say the least. Positives : Room with modern fittings. Clean. Free room safe. Friendly staff. Great location. Negatives : Room phone not working and not repaired, so no use at all when needing to ask for help, using the phone. Key card (used for the power) taken by the cleaner(s) and not replaced until the second evening. The consequence of this was the room was overwhelmingly warm upon returning to the room. A 24 hour room service finishing at 10pm. The biggest disappointment was the hotel not replying to a direct message/request 48 hours before arrival. It has to be added that the Barcelo group are usually very prompt at responding. Overall, our stay was underwhelming. We booked the hotel on the quality of service we have had at the other Barcelo hotels.

I love this hotel. I had a suite and it felt very luxurious, and it was on the top floor and it had a huge bathtub and I loved the colors in the textures. It was all very soothing.
Here’s the huge bathtub. It’s the biggest bathtub. I’ve ever seen in a hotel.
Everything was blonde wood and muted colors, and it just felt upscale
The lake is a half a block away. It’s beautiful. I walked around it every morning and also down by the river through the Parks. The hotel is beautiful beautifully located.

I loved the location of this hotel, and the breakfast was great. We booked last minute with no issues. Despite being so close to downtown it was not very noisy at night. The only thing that was alittle strange, and this may just be because I am an American, but there is no actual room for the shower. The toilet has a little room on its own, but the shower is out in the open in the room. The shower does have privacy tinting which is nice, I have just never been to a hotel with this. Overall, I would recommend this hotel!

Great Choice in Hamburg

Overall a solid experience. The accommodations were good for the price point. Had problems with the A/C the room was a bit warm at night. Bed was acceptable and we had plenty of room to move around. Breakfast had good choices and was overall a great experience. The location was great and we were able to get around without any issues. Highly recommend
