I used my credit card to pay at the hotel upon check in and 2days later a fraud transaction of an equivalent amount was made on my credit card under a different sterling property which means the number and pin of my credit card was copied at the time of swiping. Din’t expect such chains to be frauds.

My recent stay at Sterling Hotel Nainital was really excellent. The staff were excellent; my room was clean, spacious, and had a wonderful view of the hills and peaks; and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff in the restaurant, especially Manoj Bisht, was fantastic, always being on hand to answer any questions, and going out if their way to make sure everything was to my liking.

Very Bad experience

I booked this hotel for one night. When I reached the hotel with my family front desk told me there is no booking on my name and they also don't have any room available now, He asked me to leave and search some room in Nanital mall road. When I saw them the mail from hotels.com ( mail have US date format 3/5/2016 ,so representative argue with me that booking was for may 3rd not march 5th). After arguing they checked with their head office which confirmed the booking then they offered me a room. Room condition was not good also room was near to there kitchen so very noisy. We ordered some food for dinner which was pathetic. Also Hotel is 7Km form the Nanital situated nowhere ,only food option is in hotel.

Bureaucracy in the service industry

Two main problems: 1) Online the map shows the hotel on the western side of Nainital city. It is actually around 7 kilometers from Nainital, towards Bhowali. 2) I tried to change the booking directly with the hotel while traveling in India which was problematic. The Hotels.com phone number was incorrect. I managed to send an email the night before and then called in the morning to check, but wasn't able to change the booking as they referred to the Hotels.com policy. Clearly they were only to glad to make use of this policy. Obviously a hotel can decide itself if it will accept a booking change. It was mid week in the low season and when I arrived the hotel was pretty much empty so I have no idea why they couldn't accept a shift in stay by one day?

all was good for this hotel and location was fantastic. Only problem was no connectivity to your mobile . Me and my wife both got airtel and Vodaphone connection and not a single tower to call or received any calls Rest all good to go .. i enjoyed my holidays

Nice hotel, great location but away from Nainital

The property is generally well managed, with nice facilities. It is located about 15 minutes drive from Nainital, so if you want to be close to the Mall Road action, then this is a bit far (which is ok if you have a car). The rooms are excellent with a beautiful view of the valley from all rooms (request a room that is not on the ground floor). The restaurant (Tadka) is great, and the complimentary buffet breakfast is really good with a sumptuous spread every day. The only negative is that dinner starts only at 8pm (so if you're like me who likes an early dinner, you're out of luck!) The only disappointment I had was that they don't have wi-fi access (neither in the rooms, nor in the lobby). The manager, Amar and his front desk staff, Omkar and Pramod were really good and took care of our needs. Overall, this is a great hotel, and I would recommend it highly for anyone visiting Nainital

AWESOME DESTINATION

It was very nice experience.One should definitely visit the place if you are looking for peaceful and relaxing holiday. Only drawback is they do not provide WIFI.
